As our VP of Software Engineering, you will : • Lead and mentor multiple software development teams , fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. • Define and execute Pivoten's long-term IT strategy and technical roadmap , ensuring alignment with business goals and market needs for our multi-tenant SaaS platform. • Oversee the entire software development lifecycle for our unified platform, from conception and design to deployment and maintenance. • Drive innovation in product development , working closely with product management and business stakeholders to translate vision into robust, scalable solutions. • Architect and evolve our enterprise software solutions , ensuring seamless integration across back-office, finance, accounting, field operations, and production management modules, with a focus on multi-tenancy best practices . • Manage the engineering department's budgets, resources, and operational efficiency , optimizing for performance and growth. • Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, implementing best practices to keep Pivoten at the technological forefront. • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional leaders to identify challenges and deliver solutions that truly streamline oil and gas business processes. Ideal Team Member • Strong expertise in Software Development and Architecture , with a proven track record of building and scaling complex enterprise software solutions. • Demonstrable experience leading the development of multi-tenant SaaS applications , understanding the unique challenges and best practices related to data isolation, security, scaling, and customization in such environments. • Proficiency in modern web technologies, including significant experience with React (or similar modern front-end frameworks like Angular / Vue) for rich user interfaces, and Express.js (or similar Node.js frameworks) for robust backend services. • Deep expertise with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL , including schema design, optimization, and scaling strategies for multi-tenant data. • Demonstrated experience in IT Strategy and Product Management , guiding technical vision and product delivery. • Exceptional leadership and team management skills , with experience hiring, developing, and retaining high-performing engineering talent. • Superior communication and interpersonal skills , with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering , or a related technical field. • Proven track record of successful project management and leading engineering teams through the full software development lifecycle. • Direct experience or a deep understanding of the oil and gas industry , particularly in accounting, finance, or field operations. • Experience with cloud-native architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern development practices (e.g., DevOps, CI / CD). • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architectures.
