Join Capital One as the Director of Data Engineering and Analytics, where you'll lead our Card Data Engineering and Analytics organization. In this critical role, you will shape a unified datamart strategy in collaboration with diverse enterprise partners, and innovate modern, scalable solutions that enhance our analysts' workflows and create a self-service data experience. You will be responsible for building and managing teams that deliver high-performance, scalable data products and platforms. Your leadership will drive the consumption of data from our vast enterprise data ecosystem and establish data engineering best practices. Your Responsibilities: • Lead and expand multiple teams of software and data engineers with a focus on products. • Explore and adopt emerging technologies and open-source products across platforms. • Modernize existing technology stacks and data platforms. • Identify opportunities for automation and machine learning in collaboration with internal teams. • Work closely with architects, product owners, data professionals, and engineers to implement new applications. • Collaborate in Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across full-stack tools and technologies. • Oversee the deployment of new applications into AWS environments, providing operational support. • Conduct design and code reviews to ensure compliance with established standards. Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree. • 7+ years of experience in software or data engineering. • 5+ years of people management experience. • 3+ years of experience in Big Data and data streaming. • 3+ years of experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Preferred Qualifications: • Master's Degree. • 10+ years of experience in software or data engineering. • 5+ years in Data Governance and related platforms. • 3+ years in developing and advancing Data Architecture. • 3+ years with Data Lake Infrastructure and Data Analytics tools. • 3+ years with AWS. Capital One may sponsor a qualified applicant for employment authorization in this position. The role is based in Richmond, VA, with an annual salary range of $239,900 - $273,800.
