Azure Solutions Architect • Employment Category: Full Time / Exempt • Location: Hybrid Washington DC Metropolitan Area • Travel: Minimal • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen Job Summary As a Microsoft Azure Cloud Solutions Architect, you will provide end-to-end solution design, engineering, and technical expertise to customers to deliver reliable, efficient, and secure cloud services in a Microsoft Azure environment. Support the implementation of the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework, working with stakeholders to develop and implement an overall cloud migration roadmap. Lead cloud migration efforts, working with workload owners to determine migration strategies, design and propose target architectures. Collaborate with multiple client teams across systems, network, and security to deliver managed cloud services to application teams and business customers. Establish core cloud infrastructure, governance, policy, and practices to ensure efficient delivery of cloud services to business application teams. Work with systems administrators, network and security engineers, developers to design, build, and operate reliable, secure, and efficient cloud workloads on Microsoft Azure. Key Responsibilities • Support implementation of the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework. • Implement best practices guided by the Azure Well-Architected Framework (cost optimization, operational excellence, performance efficiency, reliability, and security). • Design secure, scalable cloud-native and hybrid Microsoft Azure-based solutions; conduct research and alternatives analyses, develop detailed designs, and implement designs as code. • Implement designs that comply with security and governance frameworks (e.g. NIST 800-53/171), enforce designs using including Azure Policy and remediate findings in non-compliant configurations. • Develop automated deployment and maintenance solutions using Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and IaC tools (ARM Templates, Bicep, Terraform, PowerShell). • Ensure operational excellence Set up and manage monitoring solutions using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights, delivering actionable performance and security insights. • Ensure secure Configure hybrid Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions with Azure AD Connect, MFA, SSO, and Zero Trust principles. • Leverage other Microsoft services including Office 365, Power Platform to realize benefits of Microsoft ecosystem and deliver seamless solutions to stakeholders. Must-Have Skills • Expert-level experience designing and managing secure cloud native and hybrid cloud solutions • Extensive experience within the Microsoft ecosystem, spanning on-premises solutions (Windows Server, Active Directory) and cloud solutions (Office 365, Power Platform). • Deep understanding of Azure governance tools: Azure Policy, RBAC, subscription management, and cloud best practices. • Proficiency in Azure Data Services, Databricks, and hybrid networking (Site to Site VPN, firewalls, ExpressRoute). • Advanced skills in automation with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and IaC tools. • Experience conducting risk assessments and implementing security tools like Azure Security Center, Defender, and Sentinel. • Familiarity with disaster recovery and backup solutions (Azure Backup, Site Recovery). • Strong understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, VMware, and integration with Azure. Bonus If You Have • : Experience developing PowerApps (Canvas and Model-driven apps). • : Good understanding of Microsoft Fabric. • : Financial industry experience. • : Relevant industry experience Education & Experience • Minimum 10 years of professional experience as software developer, architect. • Minimum 5 years of experience designing, deploying, and managing solutions in Microsoft Azure. • One or more relevant Microsoft Azure certifications (Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Developer Associate, etc.).
