Their duties include building digital security protocols, operating a cyber security system and maintaining an IT security infrastructure for their organization. Security Engineers are the first line of defense against malicious actors in the IT industry. They screen their company's critical IT infrastructure for weaknesses and create robust countermeasures to prevent future incidents. Security Engineers also train employees on security best practices and advice management on investments to safeguard the company's computer and network systems. Major Duties and Responsibilities • Identifying and defining system security requirements • Designing computer security architecture and developing detailed cyber security plans • Develop, execute and track the performance of security measures to protect information and network infrastructure and computer systems. • Design computer security strategy and engineer comprehensive cybersecurity architecture. • Identify, define and document system security requirements and recommend solutions to management. • Configure, troubleshoot and maintain security infrastructure software and hardware. • Install software that monitors systems and networks for security breaches and intrusions. • Monitor systems for irregular behavior and set up preventive measures. • Plan, develop, implement and update company's information security strategy. • Educate and train staff on information system security best practices Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree in MIS, Business or Computer Science, or related field. HR Approval Signature Approved Grade: Approved Pay Range: Skills and Qualifications Required Skills • 8-10 years cyber-security engineering experience • 8-10 Networking Experience • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, etc. • Ability to lead and influence across all levels of the organization. • Ability to manage competing priorities from multiple customers • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) • Experience with Service Level agreements and Policies • Root Cause Analysis identification and triage • Manage existing Advanced Threat Protection/Email Protection platforms • Manage inbound and outbound security rules for email (filtering, whitelists, spam, etc) • Perform security event triage and initial incident response to detected threats • Assist other groups by providing email security log and troubleshooting information to resolve production issues • Regularly review and recommend changes to policies or controls as needed to enhance security • Identifies potential gaps and offers solutions to include internal team needs, product improvements and client security posture • Communicate and enforce Information Security policies • Regulatory experience is a plus (GDPR, ISO27K, SSAE16, HIPPA, PCI, etc.) • Ability to travel occasionally (<25%) Desired Certifications • CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) • CISSP (Certified Information System Security Professional) • CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)
