Database System Administrator I – Data Visualization and ManagementLocation: Washington, DC (onsite)Duration: 6-months (potential extension)Security Clearance Requirement: Public TrustOverview:We are seeking an entry-level Database System Administrator to join our team in Washington, DC, to assist in managing, maintaining, and optimizing our database infrastructure while supporting data visualization efforts. This onsite role is ideal for an enthusiastic candidate eager to build foundational experience in database administration, data migration, and reporting tools such as Power BI.Key Responsibilities:Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of SQL Server databases.Perform essential database administration tasks, including backups, recovery procedures, and system monitoring.Collaborate with senior team members to optimize database performance and enable scalability for increased data loads.Monitor database health and perform troubleshooting to resolve performance issues.Leverage AZ Copy to efficiently transfer large datasets between on-premises systems and Azure cloud environments.Assist in the creation and maintenance of Power BI reports and dashboards for business intelligence and data analytics.Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data in Power BI visualizations.Conduct routine database maintenance tasks such as backups, indexing, and data integrity checks.Apply system patches and updates to ensure database systems remain secure and up-to-date.Document database processes, system configurations, and operational procedures comprehensively.
