Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Server Systems Administrator to manage and maintain our server infrastructure. This role focuses on Windows Server operating systems, server hardware, system updates, and data backup strategies to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability across the organization. Key Responsibilities Server Hardwar Management - Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual server hardware Windows Server Administration - Administer Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022) - Troubleshoot OS-level issues and optimize system performance Updates & Patch Management - Schedule and deploy Windows Server updates and security patches - Maintain compliance with organizational and industry standards Backup & Recovery - Implement and monitor backup solutions to ensure data integrity - Perform regular backup tests and restore drills - Develop and maintain disaster recovery documentation and procedures Duties • Manage and maintain server environments, including Windows and Linux operating systems. • Implement and monitor RAID controllers for data protection and performance optimization. • Design and manage service-oriented architecture (SOA) solutions to enhance system integration. • Collaborate on solution architecture to align with business requirements. • Administer databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server. • Utilize virtualization technologies like VMware and ESXi to optimize resource allocation. • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs for seamless application integration. • Ensure information security through effective firewall management, VPN configurations, and network protocols (DNS, DHCP). • Implement load balancing strategies to enhance application availability. • Engage in systems engineering tasks including system design, architecture planning, and deployment of microservices. • Participate in Agile methodologies for project management and software development lifecycle (SDLC). • Utilize scripting languages (Bash, Python) for automation of routine tasks. • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise. Skills • Proficient in system administration with a focus on IT infrastructure management. • Strong understanding of computer networking principles and practices. • Experience with cloud services such as AWS or Azure is preferred. • Familiarity with DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins and Git. • Knowledge of container orchestration tools like Kubernetes is a plus. • Ability to work with various databases including NoSQL technologies. • Experience in programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, or PL/SQL is beneficial. • Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile environment. • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
