We have a client in Vegas looking for a Sr. SQL Server Reporting Analyst. Heavy Stored Procedures + Power BI. This is an onsite role which should go for 1+ year. The client is a cement / concrete producer and distributor. The rate will be in the $50-52 /hr range. Work hours are basically 8 – 5. Open to USCs/GCs. Rob – RMA 612 417 6496 Business Driver: • Replace our current RH resource (Elias Tadesse) with someone more technically strong in SQL stored procedures and Power BI development. • We are undergoing a major data transformation initiative, a full migration of their data warehouse and business applications to the Azure Cloud. • We are transitioning from legacy SAP BusinessObjects (BOBJ) reports and Universe structures to a SQL / Power BI-based reporting environment. • This role is a sole contributor position and will require someone capable of independently owning and driving reporting development and data-related responsibilities from end to end. Nice to have: Experience with SAP BusinessObjects (BOBJ) and Universe Need: • Power BI Reports and Dashboard (4–5 years): • Strong experience in report building, semantic modeling, and data visualization • Understanding of Power BI report lifecycle management, security, data restriction and deployment • Familiarity with change control processes and sign-off procedures (IT & Business) • Experience with Power BI semantic layer • SQL Server (5+ years): • Deep expertise in writing and optimizing complex SQL stored procedures and queries • Proficient in using cursors, debugging SQL code, and performing query optimization • Strong understanding of data governance and secure report deployment Biggest challenge expected for role: Dealing with legacy SAP BusinessObjects (BOBJ) reports and Universe structures. It would be highly beneficial if the candidate has prior experience or familiarity with BOBJ, the individuals who previously managed and maintained these systems are no longer with the organization. Day-to-day Responsibilities: • Participate in weekly meetings with the functional team to gather reporting requirements • Debug and optimize existing SQL code and stored procedures • Build new Power BI reports and dashboards, following the full change control process • Serve as the Power BI lead—taking ownership of architecture, report design, and semantic layer development • Analyze data flows, perform source-to-target mapping, and resolve complex data quality or transformation issues • Provide expertise in BI performance tuning and report optimization • Manage report lifecycle, including security and production deployment with appropriate sign-offs Travel: N/A Breakdown: • SQL Server work – 70% • Power BI work – 30% • Future might be more 50%/50% Job Types: Full-time, Contract Pay: $74,160.20 - $89,311.22 per year Benefits: • Flexible schedule • Parental leave Schedule: • Day shift • Monday to Friday Work Location: In person
