The opportunity We currently have an opportunity for a Windows Server & VMware Administrator to join our Corporate IT team located remotely within the United States. As a Windows Server & VMware Administrator, you will be responsible for the design, deployment, maintenance, and optimization of our server infrastructure. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies including HPE servers, HPE Synergy Frames/Blades, HPE SimpliVity, VMware virtualization platforms, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), and System Center Operations Manager (SCOM), ensuring our systems are secure, up-to-date, and running efficiently. Some of the Senior Technical Admin Specialist responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Lead major technical projects spanning several teams, business units, and technologies. Responsible for research/development, performing cost-benefit analysis, calculating TCO, developing diagrams, project plans, implementation, and project closure • Administer and maintain Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022) • Manage and optimize VMware vSphere infrastructure, including ESXi hosts and vCenter • Researches and develops Microsoft Azure cloud services, adoption/migration strategies, and supports modernization efforts • Perform server builds, upgrades, patching, and configuration • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively • Vulnerability management, including research, tracking, and remediation • Collaborate with security teams to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to industry and vendor best practices and hardening guides • Utilize MECM for OS deployment, patch management, software distribution and compliance • Utilize System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) for infrastructure monitoring and alerting • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation and administrative tasks • Manage and support HPE Synergy Frames/Blades and HPE SimpliVity infrastructure • Provide assistance to storage team by researching failed backups, tuning security features and schedules, and modifying storage allocation as needed • Maintain documentation for systems, processes, and procedures • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing The expertise you bring • 5+ years of experience in Windows Server administration • 3+ years of hands-on experience with VMware vSphere • Experience with Microsoft Azure and other cloud environments preferred • Experience with Commvault, NetApp, and enterprise backup/storage is a plus • Familiarity with Citrix and other VDI solutions is a plus • Experience with MECM and SCOM • Experience with HPE server hardware and iLO management • Experience with HPE Synergy Frames/Blades and HPE SimpliVity • Proficiency in PowerShell, Ansible, Python, and Terraform is strongly preferred • Strong communication and documentation abilities • Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, analytical skills, and great organization abilities • Bachelor's degree in technology-related field is preferred Our salary ranges are determined by many factors including location, role, experience, and skillset of the candidate. The following ranges displayed reflect the target base salary for new hires, but your recruiter will share more specific compensation information with you during the hiring process. The typical base salary range for this position is: $100,000 - $142,000, based on the factors aforementioned. For candidates located in San Francisco, CA and the New York City metro area, the base salary range is $127,000 -$148,000.
