We are currently seeking a Multi‑Cloud Lead SQL / Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team in Austin, Texas (US‑TX), United States (US). Location: Austin, TX, US Company: NTT DATA Services Key Responsibilities • Minimal Travel expectation 10% to Austin, TX. • Database Administration • Provision, configure, and maintain SQL Server, Postgre SQL, MySQL, and Oracle DB instances in AWS RDS/Aurora, Azure SQL Database, GCP Cloud SQL/Alloy DB, OCI Autonomous Database and Exadata. • Design and implement high‑availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions (e.g., multi‑AZ, failover groups, cross‑region replication). • Perform database backup, restore, patching, and upgrade operations across all cloud platforms. • Monitor and tune database performance using cloud‑native monitoring tools and traditional database performance tools. • Create Linked Servers to SQL Servers and other databases such as Oracle, Access, Informix etc. • Ensure all key databases have deep insight monitoring enabled to enable improved capabilities around fault detection. • Manage and optimize cloud‑native object databases: • AWS DynamoDB • Implement best practices for partitioning, indexing, throughput provisioning, and capacity management. • Establish lifecycle management policies for object data, backup strategies, and encryption. • Automation and Infrastructure‑as‑Code • Automate database provisioning and configuration using Terraform, AWS Cloud Formation, Azure ARM/Bicep templates, GCP Deployment Manager, and OCI Resource Manager. • Implement CI/CD pipelines for database schema changes using Git Hub Actions, Azure Dev Ops, or Cloud Build. • Security and Compliance • Enforce database security policies, encryption (at rest and in transit), and access controls via IAM roles/policies across all clouds. • Support audits by ensuring logging, alerting, and compliance with industry standards (HIPAA, PCI, SOC2). • Collaboration and Support • Work closely with cloud engineers, Dev Ops teams, data analysts, and application developers to support development and production environments. • Participate in on‑call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems. • Assist the support staff to troubleshoot Oracle, SQL, and any other database errors. • Strong expertise in managing SQL Server databases with full managed services, including backup/restore, HA, DR, patching, tuning, maintenance, security, networking, optimization, troubleshooting, ETL, monitoring. • Be able to build up and manage PaaS databases in AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI in SQL databases. • Participate in DR (Disaster Recovery) / COB (Continuity of Business) plans. • Document all database configurations, processes, and policies. Required Qualifications • Primary: SQL • Secondary: Oracle, Exadata • 10+ years of experience as a SQL DBA in enterprise environments. • 4+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA. • 3+ years of hands‑on experience managing SQL databases in AWS, Azure, GCP, and OCI. Highly Preferred Qualifications • Strong experience with AWS RDS/Aurora, Azure SQL Database, GCP Cloud SQL/Alloy DB, and OCI Autonomous Database. • Working knowledge of Dynamo DB, Cosmos DB, Firestore/Bigtable, Oracle No SQL Database. • Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers. • Solid understanding of cloud security principles, IAM, and encryption mechanisms. • Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure‑as‑Code practices. • MCTS, MCITP and advanced SQL Server certifications. • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Expert (OCE) credentials is a plus. • Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Database Specialty, Azure Database Administrator Associate, Google Professional Cloud Database Engineer, OCI Database Cloud Professional). • Experience with Kafka, Rabbit MQ, or other message queuing systems. • Knowledge of Data Ops practices and database CI/CD pipelines. • Familiarity with Kubernetes and database operators (e.g., AWS RDS Operator, Azure Arc Data Services).
