Our client is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Lead Data Scientist to spearhead advanced financial analytics initiatives. This is a fully remote position, empowering you to leverage your expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data visualization to drive strategic decision-making. You will be responsible for leading a team of data scientists, defining project roadmaps, and developing sophisticated analytical models to uncover insights from large, complex financial datasets. You will work closely with finance, product, and engineering teams to identify key business challenges and opportunities, translating them into data-driven solutions. Key responsibilities include developing predictive models for risk assessment, fraud detection, customer behavior, and financial forecasting; designing and implementing A/B tests; and communicating complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, along with experience in SQL, big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), is essential. You will also be expected to mentor junior data scientists, stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science and machine learning, and contribute to the overall data strategy of the organization. Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a team of data scientists in developing and deploying advanced analytical models. Qualifications: Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field. 8+ years of progressive experience in data science, with a focus on financial analytics. Proven experience leading data science teams and managing projects. Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics. Proficiency in Python or R, and SQL. Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure). Strong data visualization skills. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities. Ability to translate complex business problems into data science solutions.
