Job Title: Information Security Engineer III Location: Remote (USA) - EST Working Hours About the Role Our client, a national banking leader, is seeking an Information Security Engineer III to strengthen their digital identity and access management (IAM) capabilities. This position will focus on building, maintaining, and securing Ping Directory infrastructure and related Ping Identity products, ensuring seamless customer authentication and compliance with strict financial industry standards. This role is highly collaborative, interfacing with IT Engineering, Information Security, and Cloud teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance IAM solutions. The engineer will act as a subject matter expert in Ping Directory, driving design, integration, optimization, and compliance initiatives across the enterprise. Top Skills Required Must Have: • Cloud (AWS, Azure, or similar) • Customer/digital identity and access management • Ping Directory • Ping Federate Nice to Have: • DevOps background • Java development experience What You'll Do • Architect, implement, and maintain Ping Directory infrastructure to support customer IAM. • Define and enforce security, compliance, and performance standards for directory services. • Serve as SME and consultant on IAM solutions, federation, and authentication strategies. • Integrate Ping Directory with authentication, SSO, and federation tools including PingFederate. • Monitor and optimize directory performance, replication, and uptime. • Develop automation scripts (Shell, Python) for directory maintenance and reporting. • Conduct incident analysis, root cause investigations, and remediation. • Provide evidence for compliance, audits, and regulatory requirements. • Stay updated on emerging identity security threats, technologies, and industry best practices. • Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with offshore teams to ensure consistent IAM operations. Minimum Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience. • 8+ years of IT experience, with 4+ years in Ping Directory or LDAP services. • Hands-on experience with Ping Identity Suite (PingDirectory, PingFederate, PingAccess, PingOne). • Strong IAM knowledge (authentication, authorization, federation, SSO). • Familiarity with cloud identity integration (AWS/Azure). • Proficiency in Unix/Linux and scripting languages (Shell, Python). • Solid knowledge of replication, distributed computing, and directory schemas. • Industry certifications (Security+, CISSP, Ping Identity) preferred. • Excellent communication skills with ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
