Position: SharePoint Administrator (Planned Position) (Top Secret Required) Clearance: a T5 security clearance based on an initiated Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) in Defense Information System for Security DISS On-site: required Location: Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) CIO C109, Portsmouth, VA 23709 Responsibilities • SharePoint Server Administration • Configure, manage, and maintain SharePoint Server (2016/2019) environments, including web applications, site collections, content databases, and service applications • Manage user permissions, Active Directory group integration, and SharePoint security policies • Implement and maintain governance policies, backup and recovery plans, and disaster recovery strategies • Administer and optimize Central Administration, Search Service Application, User Profile Service, and Managed Metadata Services • Support and manage migrations between SharePoint On-Premises and SharePoint Online using tools such as SharePoint Migration Tool (SPMT), Share Gate, or Metalogix • System Maintenance & Monitoring • Perform routine system health checks, apply patches, Cumulative Updates (CUs), and Service Packs (SPs) to maintain system stability • Monitor system performance, analyze logs, and respond to system alerts or issues affecting SharePoint availability or performance • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to manage Windows Server, IIS, and SQL Server configurations related to Share Point • Troubleshooting and Support • Investigate and resolve SharePoint errors, performance bottlenecks, and service disruptions • Provide tier 2/3 support to end users and site owners for SharePoint issues • Maintain documentation of configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides • Deployment & Configuration • Deploy and configure custom or third-party SharePoint solutions, features, and web parts • Support solution lifecycle management (test, production) in coordination with developers and business units • Assist with migrations or upgrades between SharePoint versions or from older to newer environments Requirements • Bachelor's degree in an IT-related discipline • Possible fields: Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering • Seven (7) years of experience Recommended Certifications • Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Server Hybrid Administrator Associate • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator • CompTIA Security+ Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.
