The Director of Enterprise Reporting & Analytics leads strategic initiatives in reporting, analytics, and data governance at the Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church. The role: The Director of Enterprise Reporting & Analytics provides strategic leadership and hands-on guidance for reporting, analytics, and data governance to support the mission of the Board of Pensions of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). This role ensures that health, pension, retirement, and investment programs are supported with accurate, timely, and actionable insights. The Director leads a small team of Power BI developers/analysts while interfacing closely with data engineers, business stakeholders, and external vendors. This position plays a critical role in shaping the vision for data governance, reporting standards, and business intelligence practices across the organization, ensuring alignment with operational and strategic priorities. What you will do: Leadership & Team Development • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of three Power BI developers/analysts, ensuring delivery of high-quality dashboards, reports, and decision-support tools. Two team members bring domain expertise in Investments and Benefits/Health & Welfare. • Foster a high-performing, customer-focused team culture, providing coaching and professional development. • Serve as a player-coach , providing hands-on development support and guidance when needed. Analytics & Reporting Delivery • Define and execute an enterprise analytics roadmap aligned with organizational goals and mission. • Oversee reporting sourced from the data warehouse across pensions, investments, health and welfare benefits, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and relevance. • Ensure data accuracy and interpretability to support operational, regulatory, and strategic decision making. • Partner with business leaders to deliver meaningful insights on plan design, funding, investments, member health, and welfare outcomes. • Guide the development of predictive and trend-based analytics that are practical, realistic, and actionable. Data Governance & Integration • Lead the organization’s first structured data governance program, including KPI definitions, data standards, and stewardship processes. • Partner with IT and data engineers to define business requirements for data pipelines, warehouses, and integrations, ensuring high-quality and compliant reporting outputs. • Oversee vendor data integrations, including TELUS Health and ACA reporting, and ensure regulatory compliance. • Promote adoption of self-service reporting and data literacy across departments. Stakeholder Engagement & Mission Alignment • Serve all departments of the Board of Pensions, ensuring reporting and analytics advance the mission of providing benefits programs that strengthen the Church and its affiliated ministries. • Partner with stakeholders across Benefits, Investments, Finance, Healthcare, and Pension Administration to anticipate data needs and deliver trusted insights. • Collaborate with IT to assess new tools, technologies, and methods that can improve reporting and decision-support capabilities. • Serve as a trusted advisor to executives and the Board on trends, performance insights, and analytics opportunities. Technology & Tools • Leverage enterprise BI and cloud data platforms (Power BI, Snowflake, SQL, etc.) to deliver scalable and reliable insights. • Evaluate and recommend emerging analytics tools or technologies to improve organizational reporting capabilities. • Collaborate with IT and vendors to align data solutions with organizational priorities, without reliance on an enterprise architect. What you need to succeed: • Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, finance, health administration, or related field; equivalent experience considered. • 7–10 years of progressive experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or related roles. • Demonstrated expertise with Power BI and modern data visualization tools. • Strong understanding of benefits administration, health and welfare plans, retirement/pension programs, and investment reporting (experience in all areas preferred; strength in at least one domain required). • Familiarity with ACA reporting, and related compliance requirements. • Solid grasp of business analytics methods, including trend analysis and predictive modeling, with a focus on actionable insights. • Experience guiding data governance or business intelligence standards in the absence of a dedicated enterprise architect function. • Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex data into clear business insights for diverse audiences. • Strong leadership and team development skills with a collaborative, mission-oriented approach.
