As a Staff Engineer – DevOps, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of software delivery at a company driving innovation at scale. In this critical role, you’ll guide the evolution of our DevOps practices by blending hands-on technical execution with strategic oversight. You’ll partner across engineering teams to ensure rapid, secure, and high-quality software releases while continuously improving the performance and reliability of our CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure. Who you’ll report to: This role will report to our Director, Engineering Location: Hybrid role with regular onsite workdays in our San Jose, CA office strongly preferred. Other locations in the U.S may be considered You will make an impact by being responsible for: • Leading and mentoring the DevOps team by setting clear goals, offering constructive feedback, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement • Overseeing daily DevOps operations, including build/release management, CI/CD pipelines, environment management, and infrastructure reliability • Driving technical decisions and providing guidance on tooling, automation strategies, and architectural direction • Collaborating with engineering, QA, and product teams to prioritize work, align objectives, and ensure seamless deployments • Identifying and implementing automation opportunities to reduce manual work and accelerate delivery • Ensuring system scalability, performance, and security are integrated into all DevOps solutions • Monitoring and improving infrastructure reliability, alerting systems, and overall observability • Advocating for DevOps best practices and promoting a culture of accountability, energy, and collaboration You will be a great fit if you have: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience • 7+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering, ideally within fast-paced product or platform environments • Expertise in CI/CD tools (especially Jenkins) and scripting languages such as Bash and Python • Strong hands-on experience with Terraform, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure • Proficient in containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes-based deployments, including Amazon EKS • Experience managing relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, CockroachDB), including database CI/CD and configuration • Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Kloudfuse, Sumo Logic, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or ELK stack • Deep understanding of deployment pipelines, infrastructure automation, and system security best practices • Self-motivated, passionate about DevOps, and driven to innovate and improve delivery practices • Cloud or Kubernetes certifications (e.g., AWS DevOps Engineer, CKA), and experience supporting compliance and audit in CI/CD workflows a plus You excel in these key competencies: • Collaborative Leadership – Leading and mentoring teams by example, setting clear goals, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and inclusion • Cross-Functional Communication – Communicating effectively with engineering, QA, and product teams; translating complex technical concepts for varied audiences • Strategic Thinking & Decision-Making – Making sound technical decisions aligned with business goals, scalability, and long-term infrastructure strategy • Problem Solving & Adaptability – Troubleshooting complex issues, adapting to evolving priorities, and driving system improvements with a solution-oriented mindset • Accountability & Ownership – Taking initiative, delivering high-quality results, and demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility for system reliability and performance The base salary range for this position is $185,000 – $205,000 a year. The base salary ultimately offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant in alignment with market data and other factors.
