Job Title: Behavioral Health Teams Assistant Location: Old North State Medical Society (ONSMS), Eastern NC Reports To: Behavioral Project Coordinator Job Type: Hourly Position Summary: The Mental/Behavioral Health Teams Assistant will provide administrative, operational, and logistical support to the mental and behavioral health programs at the Old North State Medical Society (ONSMS). This position plays a key role in supporting interdisciplinary care teams, coordinating services, and ensuring that behavioral health initiatives are delivered effectively to historically underserved populations. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, and committed to promoting access to equitable behavioral health care. Key Responsibilities: • Assist with scheduling appointments, coordinating team calendars, and confirming client sessions. • Provide administrative support to mental and behavioral health professionals, including filing, scanning, and data entry. • Help facilitate the client intake process by collecting required forms, consents, and documentation. • Maintain and update client records in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies. • Support program operations including team meetings, trainings, workshops, and outreach events. • Serve as a liaison between clients and staff for followups, referrals, and service coordination. • Compile and organize program data for reporting, evaluation, and grant tracking purposes. • Manage and monitor program supplies, prepare materials, and support logistics for service delivery. • Provide culturally responsive and respectful assistance to individuals from diverse backgrounds. • Participate in ongoing staff development, quality improvement, and community engagement activities. Required Qualifications: • Associate’s degree in a related field (Public Health, Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or Health Administration), or equivalent combination of education and experience. • At least 35 years of experience in an administrative, clinical, or community health setting. • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. • High level of organization and attention to detail. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn electronic record systems. • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, or a related field. • Experience supporting behavioral health or medical teams. • Familiarity with traumainformed care and communitybased service models. • Bilingual (Spanish/English or other language). • Experience working with historically marginalized communities. Work Environment & Conditions: • Hybrid work setting: may include inoffice, remote, and fieldbased tasks. • Occasional evenings or weekends for community events or client needs. • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel locally as required.
