Primary Job Title: Infrastructure Architect – Expert AVS Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid – 2 days onsite) Shift/Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week) Date Posted: 7/25/25 Employment Type: Contract (6 Months) Salary Range: $100 – $110/hr Job Description: As an Infrastructure Architect, you will play a pivotal role in leading the design, roadmap, and management of infrastructure services. You will collaborate with Infrastructure Engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure infrastructure solutions align with business goals. This includes overseeing colocated Equinix data centers, hybrid cloud integration, automation, and compliance standards. Responsibilities: • Lead and mentor a team of Intermediate and Senior Infrastructure Engineers • Develop and maintain an infrastructure roadmap aligned with organizational goals • Design, implement, and manage data center and cloud infrastructure services • Provide architectural leadership for Equinix colocation data centers • Collaborate with IT teams to meet infrastructure and business requirements • Drive adoption of Azure and AVS hybrid cloud technologies • Automate infrastructure processes using Ansible and Terraform • Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and recovery policies • Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance infrastructure • Act as a subject matter expert and technical leader • Create and maintain infrastructure documentation and runbooks Qualifications: Must-Have Skills: • 10+ years in infrastructure architecture/design/management • 5+ years mentoring Intermediate/Senior Engineers • 5+ years with Azure, AVS, Azure DevOps, hybrid cloud solutions • VMware: vSphere, vCenter, VCF, VxRail, NSX-T, HCX, vSAN, Horizon, VDI • Active Directory administration and security policies • Lifecycle management of Windows and Linux (RHEL) server images • EMC/DELL storage systems, Commvault/Rubrik backup strategies • Server virtualization and physical server technologies • Disaster recovery and business continuity planning • Experience with colocation centers (e.g., Equinix), capacity planning Nice-to-Have Skills: • Certifications: VMware, Microsoft, EMC • Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) – required by Oct 31, 2025 • AI Fundamentals (AI-900) – a plus • Automation: Ansible, Terraform • SQL engineering, Exchange server, and SMTP relay experience Benefits: • Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans • 401(k) Retirement Fund About the Company: A leading North American financial institution offering a wide range of financial products and services.
