The Senior Help Desk Analyst at Robert Half is responsible for managing and improving client IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud environments. Description The Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining, administering, and improving client IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud environments, and core business applications. A successful candidate will be proficient in managing Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, virtualization platforms, and networking systems. This role requires both proactive monitoring/maintenance and responsive troubleshooting to ensure optimal uptime and performance. While most work is performed remotely from our Cherry Hill, New Jersey office, occasional client site visits are required. Responsibilities: • Administer, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, and related infrastructure. • Manage Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and security/compliance settings. • Monitor and maintain server and network performance, applying patches, updates, and security best practices. • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V). • Implement and manage backups, disaster recovery solutions, and business continuity planning. • Maintain and support network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, VLANs, DHCP, and DNS. • Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated issues from the help desk team. • Document system configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps. • Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours critical incidents. • Assist in IT infrastructure projects, migrations, and upgrades. • Perform other related duties as assigned by the IT Manager. Required Skills: • 3+ years of experience in systems administration or equivalent role. • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and file/print services. • Experience managing Microsoft 365 environments, including security and compliance features. • Solid understanding of networking concepts: TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPNs. • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V). • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network systems. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users. • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments with attention to detail. • Reliable transportation for client site visits. • Ability to lift and move computer/server equipment when necessary. Preferred Skills (Not Required): • Experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP). • Knowledge of Linux server environments. • Experience with advanced firewall configuration and security appliances. • Familiarity with remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools. • Exposure to cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS) administration.
