The Systems and Database Developer at San Diego Rock Church will design and implement technical solutions to enhance IT and data systems. This role involves collaborating with various teams to meet organizational goals and improve data integrity.
Description Position Summary: The Systems and Database Developer will perform various tasks that include designing technical solutions, defining requirement and scope, isolating key issues and reviewing potential solutions. They will refine the church's business objectives into business requirements and move any project ideas from design to delivery. This position will collaborate with Tech Innovation, Data Management, and stakeholders to provide technical assistance in examining, improving, and designing IT & data systems and processes to meet stakeholder's requirements and goals and support the whole organization. Additionally, they will also update systems and fix issues as they arise and will test security, performance, and implement other solutions as needed. This position will keep abreast with the latest advancements and research in the field and industry. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Gather and refine requirements from stakeholders to build systems and solutions utilizing various systems to meet the organization's goals. Translates business requirements into solutions that best leverage the CRM platform and various integrations. • Design solutions that leverage the CRM's best practices and introduce new technologies when necessary. • Design, build, and configure applications that are highly functional, scalable, and easily maintained. • Automate & customize business processes as necessary using CRM's automation tools and custom code or other languages (Lava, C#, SQL, Javascript, etc.). • Assist in the estimation of work effort, determination of required resources and schedule development. • Participate in peer code reviews and unit testing. • Provide in-depth demos to stakeholders to create buy-in and confidence in new solutions in an easy to digest way for non-technical users. • Provides application support by analyzing defects, replicating/fixing defects, and providing root cause analysis for defects. Troubleshoots and resolves functional and performance-related issues. • Support post deployment activities including knowledge transfer, process documentation, and application bug fixes. • Oversees the Data Migration Projects from other systems into CRM ensuring data integrity and completeness. • Manage support tickets and requests to help manage tasks and projects using agile methodology and mapping out the Tech & Data Roadmap. • Help implement fixes and solutions to reported problems in a timely manner and with good customer service. • Stay knowledgeable on latest advancements in technology & data systems as well as releases for existing systems. • Spearhead strategic process improvement initiatives utilizing thorough analysis of existing business procedures and identifying improved strategies or process flows. • Participate in the development of solution architecture. • Increase data integrity by consolidating business rules across multiple channels into one business layer using SOA architecture. • Assist and support change management for organization alongside Director of Systems and Data Management, and the Data Management Team. Requirements Job-related Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience • Bachelors degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university preferred, but not required. • Customer service experience required. • CRM Experience or experience developing with a system's API. • Minimum of 3 years of experience with at least 1 of these programming languages such as: Lava, C#, SQL, html/CSS, or Javascript. • Proven integration experience using integration techniques - REST APIs, oAuth and Single Sign-On, 2FA. Job Skills, Knowledge, Abilities • Must have ability to grasp new technology and perform duties in compliance with the Rock and Data Management policies and procedures. • Demonstrated skills and techniques to recognize problems, issues and situations, and apply resourcefulness in finding appropriate solutions to mitigate potential negative effects. Ability to follow-through to ensure effective resolution. • Proven ability to interact in a consistently positive manner with external clientele, including applicants, volunteers, vendors, visitors and guests, using a high degree of tact, diplomacy, discretion, flexibility, respect and courtesy in gesture and speech.
