We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Power BI Architect to join our team. This individual will play a key role in the design, development, and management of cutting-edge business intelligence solutions. The Power BI Architect will lead the reporting strategies, development and deployment of Power BI dashboards and data models ensuring alignment with business goals and scalability across the enterprise. This role combines deep Power BI development expertise with a broader understanding of platform architecture, governance, and data strategy. The ideal candidate will serve as a key liaison between IT and business teams, owning the BI architecture to ensure high availability, security, and performance. Responsibilities: Define and maintain enterprise Power BI Strategy and architecture ensuring scalability, performance, and integration with other enterprise platforms. Design, develop, and deploy scalable Power BI solutions that support business analytics and decision-making processes. Establish Power BI platform governance including workspace strategy, access management, data lineage, version control, and lifecycle management. Oversee the deployment architecture for Power BI (premium capacity vs. shared capacity), including licensing strategy and cost optimization. Design and implement row-level security (RLS), role-based access, and other compliance features to support data security and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with data architect and data engineers to align Power BI with the overall data and analytics ecosystem. Develop and promote self-service BI models by establishing reusable datasets and certified data sources. Define Power BI development standards, performance tuning practices, and architectural patterns. Partner with business stakeholders to understand analytics needs and ensure alignment with BI roadmaps. Optimize Power BI datasets, reports, and dashboards for performance, usability, and visual impact. Establish and enforce Power BI governance, including security, data access, naming conventions, and usage standards. Integrate Power BI with various data sources including Microsoft Fabric, Azure services, APIs, Excel, and other enterprise systems. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to BI developers and analysts. Stay current with Power BI and Microsoft Power Platform updates and incorporate best practices. Support enterprise-level BI strategies and initiatives, including self-service BI models. Qualifications: Salary Range Our compensation reflects the cost of labor within the US market. Actual salary may vary based on a number of factors including job location, job-related knowledge, skills, experiences, trainings, etc. We also offer incentive opportunities that reward employees based on individual and company performance. $178,900K-$285,700K #LI-CG1 Minimum Qualifications We are seeking someone with a Bachelor's Degree and 9+ years of total experience (MS with 6+) with experience in the following: Deep expertise in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, Power Query, and Power BI Gateway Strong SQL and data modeling skills, with experience in dimensional modeling and star/snowflake schemas Experience implementing Power BI governance frameworks and platform scaling strategies. Solid understanding of data architecture, including Data Lake architecture, Data Warehouse design, ETL/ELT pipelines and cloud data platforms (Azure preferred). Proven ability to translate complex business needs into impactful dashboards and reports. Familiarity with Data Governance, security protocols, and compliance requirements in a cloud environment. Soft Skills: Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Problem-solving attitude, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks. Leadership capabilities, including mentoring junior team members and driving technical decisions. Preferred Qualifications Microsoft certifications such as Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300). Experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) and CI/CD for BI solutions using tools like Azure DevOps. Familiarity with enterprise data governance tools.
