We are scaling up our “BIZARCHDEVOPS” (BADO) squads to deliver an Enterprise-scale, Retail Services Platform (RSP) and a set of Business, Information, and Foundation Services following an Agile and Continuous Delivery methodology. We are focused on “proudly engineering the best customer experience” and enhancing our customer shopping, sales associates selling, merchandisers and buyer’s product fulfillment, vendor drop-ship partner’s and 3rd party developer’s experience. RSP will improve our speed to market, and enable us to deliver differentiated, reliable, scalable and flexible Services to drive our Omni-Channel retail growth strategy for the year 2020. We’re looking for a few disciplined and creative Linux Administrators with “full stack” experience that have the ability to operate independently among small teams or “Squads” and can execute seamlessly across our customer, business, architecture, engineering, delivery and operational worlds. You will be a member of a small, empowered, and fully accountable team that designs, builds, and operates multiple enterprise services that power our business and customer experiences. Expectations and Key Competencies Include: • You are able to communicate, mentor and collaborate with little day-to-day guidance, both as an individual and as part of an Enterprise • Architecture and Services Delivery team with an entrepreneurial spirit to get things done quickly and constantly innovate • You implement and champion infrastructure as code through Chef and other automation tools • Work closely with both development and operations teams and demonstrate a commitment to their success. This includes attending meetings and developing relationships required to grow as a Nordstrom team member • Demonstrate a passion and commitment towards advancing automation and the craft of operations • You design & develop for optimal performance, security and all “ilities” • You are comfortable with writing tests (e.g., unit, component, performance) and verifying all “ilities” for the code and configurations you create • You exhibit a strong desire to learn new tools, technologies, and processes and drive acceptance and adoption amongst your peers by doing • You have an understanding of the core ideals embodied in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), including “everything under source control", "automate everything", and “quality is everyone’s job” • You have an understanding of the craftsmanship required to create software based solutions and you take pride in your work • You believe in the ideas behind emergent design or just enough architecture, just enough design, continuous refactoring, and Test-Driven Development (TDD) • You have an understanding of Agile principles and Scrum practices Skills Qualifications: • BS in Computer Science or a related field preferred • Expert knowledge of Unix/Linux operating system • Demonstrated Linux systems engineering experience in a complex, highly virtualized enterprise environment • Experience in Object Oriented development experience in Java and/or C++ • Experience working with cloud environments such as Amazon AWS / E2C, Windows Azure, or Cloud Foundry • Experience with Chef, Puppet or CFengine • Experience with build systems such as Jenkins, CruiseControl or Travis • Experience with continuous deployment systems such as Go • One or more modern strongly-typed languages: Java, C#, C++ • One or more modern dynamically-typed languages: Javascript, Python, Ruby, PowerShell or Unix / OS X shell scripting experience • Experience with Git, TFS, and/or other source control systems • Experience with unit testing, SCM and issue tracking, and scalability distributed systems • Understanding of software development methodologies and practices, including agile development, continuous integration and continuous delivery Agile experience, Test Driven Development (TDD) #J-18808-Ljbffr
