Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Enterprise Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes (K8s) expertise, enterprise application development, Terraform, and security. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex cloud-based infrastructures, as well as focusing on platform engineering to enhance developer experiences and self-service capabilities within a secure, governed framework. Key Responsibilities: - Cloud Architecture: Design, build, and deploy scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure. - Platform Engineering: Improve developer experiences and self-service capabilities by creating and managing an internal developer platform that helps developers be more efficient, secure, and scalable. - Kubernetes Expertise: Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters for deploying and scaling applications. - Enterprise Application Development: Able to design systems with the enterprise application developer in mind. Oversee the development and implementation of enterprise solutions which align with business strategies and software engineering needs. - Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Utilize Terraform to automate the provisioning of cloud resources, ensuring consistency, repeatability, security, and traceability. - Security: Implement and manage security measures to protect cloud infrastructure and applications, including compliance with industry standards and best practices. - Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including IT, security, and application development teams, to ensure seamless integration and operation of platform services. Partner with product, security, and engineering teams to align platform capabilities with business goals. - Documentation and Training: Create comprehensive documentation and functional training sessions, workshops, and lunch-and-learn events to share knowledge and best practices. Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, related field, and/or extensive enterprise design and development experience. - Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud architecture, with a focus on Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure. - Technical Skills: - Deep expertise in cloud-native technologies (GCP, Azure, or AWS), Kubernetes, and container orchestration. - Strong background in infrastructure as code (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines. - Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, .Net, Node.js). - Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog). - In-depth knowledge of security principles and practices in cloud and containerized environments. - Firm understanding of platform engineering concepts. Experience in designing solutions which drive efficiency, support self-service capabilities and improve developer experiences. - Able to apply knowledge of emerging technology trends and best practices to show the potential business application of technology improvements. - Collaboration: - Demonstrated ability to work closely with various individuals, teams, and departments, and other IT functional areas, including security, and application development teams. - Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and lead cross-functional projects. - Experience in creating comprehensive documentation and training materials, workshops, and lunch-and-learn events to share knowledge and best practices. - Bonus: - Experience building internal developer platforms or platform-as-a-product. - Familiarity with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd). - Relevant certifications such as Google Cloud Professional Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or similar. Designs high-level frameworks that connect solutions with business processes and data. Aligns and enhances efficiency and productivity of solutions, business processes, and data. Maps relationships among information system components. Evaluates cost and return on investment (ROI) for different architectural alternatives Provides specific functional expertise that is theoretical and conceptual in nature. This expertise is typically acquired through a combination of university education and experience within a field. May have responsibility for supervising others in the capacity of a "player coach" but primary focus is individual expertise. Particularly at higher levels, sophisticated subject matter expertise is a requirement for success. Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in own job discipline or field. Interprets business challenges and recommends best practices. Leads others to solve complex problems. Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations. May lead functional teams or projects. Business Partnership & Consulting - Advises key stakeholders by continuously helping them to successfully navigate through critical business changes. - Utilizes deep expertise and contextual awareness to explore complex issues with customers and provide trusted advice. - Serves as a subject matter expert to others on new ideas and solutions that will improve current business processes and address challenges, and leverages other subject matter experts as needed to develop solutions. Systems Thinking - Leads collaboration with key stakeholders and contributes subject matter expertise to develop unique solutions to complex issues. - Enables optimum organizational efficiency by taking a whole systems approach and thinking across boundaries to identify which polices/processes should be standardized and which should differ. - Provides guidance when evaluating the impacts of a solution to ensure linkages between structure, people, process and technology. Technology Advising/Consulting - Exceeds customers' expectations by listening for unexpressed needs; connects customer needs to relevant service offerings and new technology. - Leads others in resolving technical issues in a timely manner; follows up with customers to ensure satisfaction. - Partners with the business to integrate new technologies into business solutions; creates and communicates a vision of the technology requirements for the future state of the business. System and Technology Integration Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends integration of the appropriate systems, applications and technology to provide a fully functional solution to a business problem. Technical Communication/Presentation - Creatively develops tools, visual aids and other original content to support the understanding/education of complex and technical information (e.g., legal, operational risk, and regulatory data). - Guides others on the best practices and approaches for creating clear, concise and organized communication materials to convey technical concepts in a user-friendly way. - Challenges others to bring fresh and creative perspective to differentiating technical communications and ensuring comprehension and ease-of-use for various audiences. Pay Range: Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,740.00/year to $246,600.00/year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to, market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and education/training and a candidate's work experience. Hired applicants are offered annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs, subject to applicable eligibility requirements. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
