Position Overview At Zelis, we are modernizing and scaling our technology infrastructure. We are in search of a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead initiatives in CI/CD, cloud automation, and operational excellence. This role is perfect for an experienced DevOps professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about automation. You'll help us scale secure, reliable infrastructure across various teams. What You'll Do: • Build, scale, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps. • Automate deployment and testing workflows with scripting tools such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash. • Implement security best practices to safeguard applications and data. • Support cloud infrastructure focusing on automation, observability, and resilience. • Drive measurement, monitoring, and reporting of system availability, latency, and overall health through SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs. • Collaborate with developers, QA, and operations to streamline delivery and optimize engineering workflows. • Participate in quarterly team meetings and collaboration sessions, traveling to New Jersey as needed. • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and pipeline issues in an efficient and proactive manner. Qualifications: • 3-6 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or build/release engineering. • Strong experience with CI/CD tools, particularly GitHub, Git-based repositories, and pipeline automation. • Solid understanding of cloud platforms, preferably Azure (AWS or GCP experience is also valuable). • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python. • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Azure Monitor, Splunk, or similar. • Knowledge of SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs for performance and reliability monitoring. • Comfortable working in Agile teams and collaborating across development, QA, and operations. • Willingness to travel (~20%) for planning and collaboration sessions. Nice to Have: • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates). • Exposure to package or dependency managers like NPM or NuGet. • Background in DevSecOps or experience embedding security into CI/CD workflows. • A passion for automation, performance measurement, and continuously enhancing system reliability. What This Role Is Not: This role is not a traditional sysadmin or reactive support position. It is a hands-on engineering opportunity focused on automation, cloud tooling, and secure delivery pipelines. You'll help shape how systems are built, released, and scaled. Location and Workplace Flexibility Our offices are located in Atlanta GA, Boston MA, Morristown NJ, Plano TX, St. Louis MO, St. Petersburg FL, and Hyderabad, India.
