Data Engineer - Microsoft Fabric Platform A leading logistics and supply chain organization is accelerating its modern, AI-powered data platform built on Microsoft Fabric. We are seeking a hands-on Data Engineer with a bias for action, strong architectural instincts, and a passion for delivering high-impact solutions. This role focuses on building and optimizing data pipelines, models, and analytics that support core business functions including Operations, Finance, HR, Customer Service, and external clients. You will be instrumental in delivering unified, cross-functional data products that span fulfillment, chemical, transportation, and traditional logistics domains-regardless of underlying technology stacks. Fabric experience is essential; AWS and Terraform (Infrastructure as Code) are highly preferred. Success in this role is measured by speed to value, data quality, and adoption of reporting and visualizations. You will also embrace AI to accelerate development and enhance analytics workflows across the organization. Key Responsibilities • Build and maintain Microsoft Fabric data products: pipelines (Data Factory), Lakehouse/Warehouse tables (Delta), notebooks (PySpark), Dataflows Gen2, semantic models, and Power BI datasets and reports • Use Terraform to define and manage Azure/AWS resources in version-controlled repositories with CI/CD pipelines • Engineer cross-cloud ingestion from AWS sources (S3, RDS, Redshift, APIs) into Fabric OneLake with secure credentials and traceable lineage • Apply established data architecture patterns including medallion layers, naming conventions, and orchestration strategies • Collaborate with business units to translate requirements into curated data products and decision-ready visuals • Consolidate multiple BI/reporting tools into a unified platform without disrupting business continuity • Leverage AI tools to accelerate development, automate documentation, and enhance user experience (e.g., Copilot for Power BI, natural language queries) • Implement data validation, testing, observability, and SLAs to ensure reliability and freshness • Optimize storage and compute resources for performance and cost-efficiency • Apply robust security and governance practices including role-based access, data masking, and lineage tracking • Manage release cycles using Git-enabled Fabric workspaces and CI/CD automation • Create runbooks, data dictionaries, and user guides to support self-service analytics Required Skills And Experience • Proven experience with Microsoft Fabric components: Data Factory, Lakehouse/Warehouse, OneLake, Notebooks, Dataflows Gen2, Power BI • Strong SQL skills (T-SQL/Delta), dimensional modeling (star/snowflake), and incremental load strategies (SCD, CDC) • Ability to build clean, performant Power BI datasets with calculated columns, relationships, and row-level security • Familiarity with Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines for analytics • Demonstrated use of AI tools to enhance development and user experience • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions Preferred Background • 3+ years of hands-on data engineering experience • Exposure to logistics, order management, warehouse management, or transportation systems Physical Requirements • Ability to sit for extended periods in an office environment • Manual dexterity for keyboarding and phone use • Clear verbal communication via telephone Compensation And Benefits • Competitive wages and advancement opportunities • Medical, dental, vision, critical illness, accident, and flexible spending plans • Company-paid disability, life insurance, and employee assistance programs • Paid time off, sick leave, and holiday pay • Retirement 401(k) with discretionary employer match and profit sharing • Referral bonuses, wellness programs, clothing allowance, and reimbursement for safety gear Benefits BENEFITS AND TOTAL REWARDS: • Competitive wages, and opportunities for advancement. • Medical, Dental, Vision, Critical Illness, Accident, and Flexible Spending Plans available. • Company-paid Short/Long-term Disability, Life Insurance, and Employee Assistance plans. • Company-paid Time-Off (PTO), Sick Leave, and Holiday Pay. • Retirement 401(k) Plan with Discretionary Employer Match, and Profit Sharing. • Referral Bonus, Wellness Programs, Clothing Allowance, Safety Shoes, and Safety Glasses Reimbursement.
