Independent Consultant – AS/400 to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Migration Project Overview: We are looking for an experienced independent consultant to lead the end-to-end migration of business processes and data from an existing IBM AS/400-based business management system to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (SaaS version). The current IBM AS/400 ERP system is integrated with the web portal that used for handling most of the business use cases of the company. The project will require a consultant who is both strategic and hands-on — someone who can analyze legacy processes and data structures, plan and execute the migration, and ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption to the business. Responsibilities: ●Conduct a thorough assessment of the existing AS/400-based system, including: ○Business processes ○Data structures (DB2) ○Existing integrations and customizations ●Map legacy processes and data to standard (or custom-configured) Business Centralmodules ●Develop a data migration strategy and migration tools (extraction, transformation,and load) ●Configure Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to reflect business needs ●Perform or oversee data import, testing, validation, and reconciliation ●Provide user training and documentation support as needed ●Support go-live and hypercare period Required Skills & Experience: ●Proven experience with IBM AS/400 (IBM i) environments, including data models(DB2) and common programming environments (e.g., RPG) ●3+ years hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central,including configuration and data migration ●Hands-on experience with data migration techniques and tools: ○Data extraction from legacy DB2 databases ○Data transformation and cleansing ○Business Central data import ●Ability to map and modernize core business processes: financials, inventory, ordermanagement, reporting, etc. ●Experience executing functional and UAT testing ●Comfortable working independently, managing the full scope of work from discoveryto go-live ●Excellent communication and documentation skills Preferred Qualifications: ● Experience in business process redesign or ERP modernization●Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform and/or AL development●Experience integrating Microsoft Dynamics Business Central with third-party systems (e.g. CRM, warehouse management, e-commerce, etc.) Project Details: ● Start Date: 11/17/2025●Project Duration: Estimated 3–6 months●Engagement Type: Contract work●Location: Remote with availability for occasional in-person meetings (if needed)●Working Hours: Flexible, with overlap to GMT +3●Reporting To: Project Manager
