Domain Name Services (DNS) Engineer - Intermediate 💰 Salary: $100,000 - 140,000 per year At SMS Data Products Group, Inc. we are looking for a DevOps engineer! 🛠️ Our tech stack: Cloud, Hardware, Support, LAN, Linux, MPLS, Network, Security, Office 365, DevOps 📝 Rquirements: We are looking for candidates who possess a technical degree, either an Associate's or Bachelor's in computer science, information systems, or a related field in Science/Engineering/Math. Alternatively, 5-7 years of relevant experience in Information Technology, particularly in system or application administration, is acceptable. Additionally, the following certifications are necessary: a DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification, such as CompTIA Security+ CE, CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) CE, (ISC)² Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), GIAC Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP), or GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC). You should also meet the Computing Environment/Operating System (CE/OS) Defense Cyberspace Workforce Certification (DCWF) requirements, which may include Linux+, Infoblox DDI Professional, Microsoft Office Specialist: Outlook Associate (Office 2019), Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator Associate, or Microsoft Security Operations Analyst Associate. An active DoD Secret or higher security clearance is required. 👩‍💻👨‍💻 Your responsibilities are: In this role, I will need you to maintain a directory of domain names and convert them to Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining network services, equipment, and devices while supporting our network and computing infrastructure. You are expected to manage DNS MX records for all domains utilizing email services within the Microsoft O365 Cloud. Documenting network problems and their resolutions for future reference is crucial. Monitoring system performance and assisting in tuning for optimal performance are also part of your duties. Additionally, supporting network security through patching, system maintenance, and upgrades is essential. You will prepare and schedule computer setups, repairs, configuration changes, or replacements and provide solutions to day-to-day DNS issues via phone, email, remote access, or in person. Assisting the Information Systems team in meeting key performance indicators and maintaining records of hardware/software usage along with license management will be part of your responsibilities. You'll develop strategies to ensure timely delivery of equipment, identify cost-saving opportunities, and enhance performance. A solid understanding of desktop and laptop hardware and common software such as MS Office is required. Staying informed about current operating systems, understanding the role of Information Systems in manufacturing, and having knowledge of modern LAN/WAN solutions are essential components of this position.
