The Windows Administrator will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of our Windows-based systems and servers. This role is crucial to ensuring the stability, security, and efficient operations of our IT infrastructure. Key Responsibilities • System Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers, workstations, and related software and hardware components. • System Maintenance: Perform regular system updates, patches, and software upgrades to ensure system integrity and security. • Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize server and system resources to achieve peak efficiency. • Security Management: Implement and manage security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and user access controls, to protect against unauthorized access and potential threats. • Backup and Recovery: Develop and manage backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability in case of system failures or disasters. • Technical Support: Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, and assist with application deployment and maintenance. • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes to ensure knowledge sharing and consistency across the team. • Compliance: Ensure systems and processes comply with industry standards, regulations, and internal policies. • Collaborative Projects: Work closely with other IT team members, developers, and stakeholders on various projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations. • Training and Mentoring: Provide guidance and training to junior staff and end-users to improve system usage and knowledge. Qualifications • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator - MCSA) are a plus. • Experience: Proven experience as a Windows Administrator or in a similar role, with hands-on experience in Windows server environments. • Technical Skills: • Strong understanding of Windows Server operating systems, including Windows Server 2016/2019. • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other core Windows services. • Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V. • Knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, and security practices. • Experience with backup and recovery solutions. • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) for automation and task management. Soft Skills: • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality. • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. • Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, CompTIA Server+, or similar certifications are highly desirable. “Expected annual pay for this role ranges from $60,000 to $70,000 .
