We are seeking an experienced Application Architect specialising in the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. Responsibilities • Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure cloud architectures on the Azure platform. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business and technical requirements, translating them into effective Azure solutions. • Guide the development team in best practices for cloud-based application design, ensuring adherence to Azure architectural principles and guidelines. • Stay current with Azure services and industry trends, driving innovation and continuous improvement in our cloud offerings. • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior architects and developers, fostering a culture of excellence and knowledge sharing. Required education • None Preferred education • Bachelor's Degree Required technical and professional expertise • Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale cloud applications, preferably on the Azure platform. • Deep understanding of Azure services and familiarity with key components like Virtual Machines, Storage, SQL Database, Logic Apps, and more. • Strong knowledge of software architecture principles and patterns, and experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, and serverless computing on Azure. • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse complex systems, identifying areas for optimization and improvement. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred technical and professional experience • Experience with containerisation technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes on Azure. • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates. • Knowledge of data engineering and experience with Azure data services like Azure Synapse Analytics, Data Lake, or Event Hubs. • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation on Azure, such as using Azure Pipelines, DevOps, or Azure Functions.
