Contract type: Full Time Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) relies on a wide range of technologies. As a DevOps engineer for our cloud platforms, you will help to support and develop national systems that support CTP operations to keep the country safe. Using your technical skills and experience, you can help to support and develop our cloud platforms as part of a new team of DevOps engineers, supporting and improving business-as-usual operations alongside project delivery teams. You will work flexibly, as required, from home, our operations centre located east of Birmingham (with easy access from the M6 and M42), or from our London-based HQ. You’ll be part of our Customer Service Centre (CSC) team providing technical support for all our national services. Day to day, you’ll be supporting live services running on our public cloud environments and developing functionality to support project teams' deliverables. Any experience with support, agile delivery, or DevOps in technically diverse enterprise environments would be advantageous. As a DevOps engineer, you’ll be our support lynchpin whilst growing a wide range of technical skills. An understanding of cloud platform technologies and security, preferably with Microsoft Azure/365 and AWS Platforms, is desirable. You should be technically creative and driven to continuously improve services. A willingness to learn and a flexible open mind are a must. As this is a new team, we will be developing new ways of working, and you should be keen to learn and develop both technical and supporting skills as required. This is a flexible role with home and office working available depending on business needs. There may be occasional travel to other UK sites for business purposes, and overnight accommodation will be provided when required.
