You will collaboratively define and guide the architectural standards, practices, and technical direction of our engineering organization. This role requires a hands-on technical leader with a deep understanding of modern web architectures, a passion for scalable software systems, and the ability to influence engineering teams toward excellence in software design and delivery. You will lead and mentor across our full technical stack, including both frontend and backend, and the end to end software development lifecycle, including devops and production operations. You will work cross-functionally with Product and Design peers to guide our technical roadmap and decision-making in bringing the best products and user experiences to life. You will also partner with AI/ML, security, and infrastructure peers to help make sure we define great architectures and practices across our teams. Responsibilities: Lead and oversee application architecture and software design for complex distributed systems and applications, with a particular emphasis on .Net-based cloud solutions Manage a small team of architects Collaborate with senior members of the Engineering, Product, and Design teams to shape and drive our technical strategy and vision, leveraging cloud services, best of breed software, and engineering best practices Align architecture with product vision and delivery goals in a fast-moving environment Effectively communicate and collaborate across functions and groups to influence the strategic direction, driving improvements in the technology stack, user experience, and technical standards and practices Evaluate and introduce new technologies, tools, and frameworks where appropriate Solve complex problems without overly complex solutions Provide expert technical leadership and mentor other architects and engineers Elevate engineering and operational excellence by setting and maintaining high standards and best practices in scalable distributed systems design Help ensure software meets all requirements of quality, security, compliance, modifiability, extensibility, and other best practices Foster a positive, collaborative, and empathetic culture that empowers team members to grow and succeed Operate in a rapidly evolving environment, adapting and prioritizing as needed to ensure success Be a strategic, business-minded, and product-oriented technical leader, maintaining a focus on delivering outstanding products Understand strategic goals of the business Hands-on development where needed, including prototyping and technical spikes Essential Criteria 5+ years as a senior architect with deep software development and design experience, with a strong background in C#/.Net-based solutions and AWS services Extensive technical experience in designing and implementing SaaS products at scale, with a strong emphasis on quality, reliability, maintainability, and scalability Strong fullstack experience across both the frontend and backend Strong understanding of web accessibility (WCAG, ARIA, semantic HTML) Expertise in modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) Strong command of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive web design principles Experience with front-end build tools, state management libraries, and component-based architectures. Understanding of UI/UX principles and ability to ensure a high-quality user experience. A history of mentoring and coaching senior and junior engineers, fostering their technical potential and growth Demonstrated experience leading cross-team strategic efforts, influencing decisions to achieve cross-team alignment on major goals Proven expertise developing simple and efficient architectures to address complex problems Experience with microservices architecture, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems utilizing cloud-native technologies Experience building concurrent data streaming and real-time pub-sub systems (e.g., Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ) Experience with large-scale database solutions, including relational databases Previous experience managing a small team Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate and evangelize complex ideas simply and clearly Desirable Criteria Experience with Azure a strong plus Familiarity with browser extensions, desktop, and mobile applications a strong plus Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., edtech, healthcare, finance) Experience with monolith-to-microservices transformations or frontend modernization initiatives Please submit your application on our website by end of day on Tuesday 24th June 2025.
