Data Scientist; Cleared Talent Community - Virginia Data Scientist (Cleared Talent Community - Virginia) Locations: McLean-VA, Chantilly-VA, or Reston-VA Clearance Required: TS/SCI with Polygraph Requisition Type: Pipeline – this is not a current opening but rather a talent pipeline for Data Scientists of all levels with polygraph clearances interested in supporting the U.S. Intelligence Community. Position Responsibilities: • Develop and implement machine learning, data mining, statistical, and graph-based algorithms to analyze large and complex datasets. • Prototype and evaluate multiple algorithms, selecting the final model based on rigorous performance metrics. • Design and execute experiments or create models to generate data when training datasets are unavailable. • Generate reports and visualizations that provide actionable insights and summarize data findings for clients. • Translate complex data analysis into clear, actionable recommendations. • Collaborate with subject matter experts to automate manual data analysis processes and integrate analytics into production frameworks. • Apply expert knowledge in data science to deliver solutions that address clients' business needs. • Conduct assessments of clients' preparedness to integrate data analytics into their operations. • Stay current with emerging tools and techniques in machine learning, statistical modeling, and data analytics. This role requires a self-driven individual capable of working under minimal supervision, with a strong ability to translate raw data into concise and actionable insights. Required Degree and Experience: Educational Background: • Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., statistics, mathematics, operations research, engineering, or computer science) with 1-2+ years of relevant work experience. • Or, a Master’s Degree with 1+ years of relevant work experience. • Or, a PhD with 0+ years of relevant work experience. Required Skills: • Proficiency with data analysis tools and programming languages such as R, Python, SAS, MATLAB, Java, C++, or SQL. • Experience in developing experiments to collect or simulate data when required data is unavailable. • Knowledge of machine learning, statistical modeling, and data wrangling. • Proficiency with big data technologies such as AWS, Azure, NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis), Hadoop, or Spark. • Strong ability to communicate complex models and concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Required Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance with a Polygraph Desired Skills: • Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL). • Proficiency with unsupervised, semi-supervised, and supervised learning algorithms and technologies. • Understanding of the data science lifecycle (e.g., CRISP-DM). Work Schedule: Ability to work on-site for 36-40 hours during a typical week.
