Position: JDL Solutions: Sys Admin / IT Support Specialist (Tampa Bay) About JDL Solutions: 23-year Tampa Bay MSP serving small to mid-sized businesses; small team with work freedom. Job Description & Expectations: • Deliver Tier 2/3 support across servers, networks, security, and cloud for diverse client environments • Administer and harden Windows Server, Active Directory/Group Policy, Hyper-V/VMware, Clusters, SAN, Replication, Azure Multi Tenant • Own core services: DNS/DHCP, public DNS, RAID/storage, backups and disaster recovery • Design and maintain Layer 2/Layer 3 networks: VLANs; routing (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP); NAT; TCP/IP • Configure and troubleshoot firewalls and VPNs (Palo Alto, Cisco, OPNsense, pfSense): rules, NAT, static routes, WAN failover, Multi WAN • Support switches/routers/APs (Zyxel, Meraki, TP-Link, etc.); Wi-Fi segmentation and optimization • Manage and patch Windows and Linux servers; IIS, RDS, Exchange/Outlook; Entra ID/Microsoft 365; Google Workspace • Plan and execute upgrades, migrations, and integrations (on-prem ↔ cloud) • Participate in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning, testing, and documentation • Coordinate vendor escalations; document changes, incidents, and standards • Provide on-call coverage for priority incidents as needed • Work style: high trust, client-facing communication, proactive updates, full follow-through Qualifications (required) • 5+ years in Sys Admin/Network/IT Support within MSP or multi-tenant environments • Strong with Windows Server, AD/GPO, Hyper-V and VMware • Fast learner; strong research and self-direction • Deep networking across Layers 1–4: switching, routing, VLANs, OSPF/BGP/EIGRP, TCP/IP, NAT • Firewall/VPN expertise: rule design, NAT policies, static routes, WAN failover • Backup/restore and DR for Windows servers/workstations • Hardware proficiency: build/repair desktops, laptops, servers, storage/RAID • Email/identity: Exchange/Outlook, POP/IMAP, Microsoft 365/Entra ID; Google Workspace familiarity • Calm, clear customer communication and end-to-end ownership Qualifications (preferably) • Azure or AWS admin; hybrid AD; policy/standards; monitoring and cost optimization • Cloud migration, architecture, and design (network, compute, storage, databases) • SQL Server: HA/DR, security, performance, cost management • Vendors/tech: Extreme Networks, Cisco, Palo Alto, SonicWall, Meraki, Aruba, Ruckus, OPNsense , pfSense, F5 • VOIP setups; CASB/cloud security; SCADA/Allen-Bradley exposure • Linux server admin; macOS support • Certifications: CCNA (R&S or Cloud), Network+, Cloud+, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, Azure AI Fundamentals What You’ll Love: • Work freedom and real ownership in a tight-knit, low-bureaucracy team • Variety across industries and tech stacks • Direct impact on standards, tooling, and client outcomes Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $62,798.90 - $75,628.78 per year Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week Work Location: In person
