Job Summary: The Functional ERP Lead for Finance provides strategic functional leadership in the design, implementation, optimization, and support of our core financial systems and related technologies. This senior-level role requires deep expertise in financial business processes, a proven track record of successfully delivering complex system implementations and enhancements, and the ability to translate strategic financial objectives into effective and scalable system solutions. The Finance ERP Lead will act as a trusted advisor to both the Finance and IT departments, driving best practices and ensuring our financial systems enable efficiency, accuracy, and strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities: • Strategic Business Process Analysis: Lead the analysis of complex financial processes across the organization, identifying strategic opportunities for system-driven improvements, automation, and standardization in alignment with long-term financial goals. • Solution Vision and Design: Define the functional vision and design for significant financial system initiatives, including major implementations, upgrades, and integrations. Develop comprehensive functional specifications and ensure alignment with overall IT strategy and architecture. • Stakeholder Management and Influence: Build and maintain strong relationships with senior finance leadership and other key stakeholders. Effectively communicate the benefits and implications of system changes and influence decision-making regarding financial system strategy and roadmap. • Project Leadership and Oversight: Provide functional leadership and guidance on complex financial system projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Mentor and guide other functional analysts and team members. • Complex System Configuration and Customization: Oversee and contribute to the configuration and customization of financial modules within enterprise systems to meet intricate business requirements. Ensure solutions are robust, scalable, and maintainable. • Integration Strategy: Develop and execute strategies for seamless integration between financial systems and other enterprise applications, ensuring data integrity and efficient information flow. • Risk and Control Management: Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with financial system implementations and changes. Ensure systems are designed and configured to support strong internal controls and compliance requirements. • Data Governance and Integrity: Champion data governance initiatives related to financial systems, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and security. Define data standards and collaborate with data management teams. • Performance Optimization and Innovation: Continuously evaluate the performance of financial systems, identify areas for optimization, and drive innovation through the adoption of new technologies and best practices. • Vendor Management: Participate in the evaluation and management of external vendors providing financial system solutions or services. • Knowledge Sharing: Mentor finance team members on financial system capabilities and best practices. Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation and knowledge repositories. Qualifications: Experience: 8-10 years of progressive experience as a Finance ERP Lead or Business Analyst with a deep focus on financial systems. A significant portion of this experience should include leading and delivering complex financial system implementations and transformations. Extensive experience with major ERP financial modules (e.g., SAP FI/CO, Oracle Financials, Microsoft Dynamics Finance, NetSuite) or equivalent enterprise-level financial software is essential. Technical Skills: • Expert-level understanding of financial accounting principles, practices, and regulations. • Proven ability to architect and design complex financial system solutions. • Deep expertise in the configuration and functional capabilities of multiple financial modules within enterprise systems. • Strong understanding of data integration methodologies, data warehousing concepts, and reporting tools. • Proficiency in database concepts and query languages (e.g., SQL) for data analysis and validation. • Experience with business intelligence (BI) and analytics platforms for financial reporting and strategic insights. • Deep understanding of cloud-based financial systems and related technologies. • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills with the ability to understand complex business challenges and develop innovative system-based solutions. • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate with and influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior management. • Leadership and Project Management Skills: Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a proven ability to lead and motivate teams, manage complex projects, and drive successful outcomes. Formal project management certifications (e.g., PMP) are a plus. • Business Acumen: Strong business acumen with the ability to understand the broader organizational context and align financial system strategies with overall business objectives. • Certifications: Relevant professional certifications in accounting (e.g., CPA, CMA) and/or financial systems (e.g., system-specific certifications) are highly preferred.
