NMRHCA was established in 1990 to provide health care coverage to retirees of state agencies and eligible participating public entities. Approximately 305 public entities including cities, counties, universities and charter schools participate in NMRHCA. The agency provides medical plans for both non-Medicare and Medicare-eligible retirees and their dependents as well as dental, vision and life insurance. The Authority currently provides coverage to approximately 66,000 retirees and their dependents. The Authority is governed by an 11-member Board of Directors. Why does the job exist? This position exists to provide technical support to the Agency's local and wide area network and all peripherals attached to the Agency's network; work with and assist other IT staff; provide end-user support in the Albuquerque and Santa Fe offices. The IT Network Administrator I will help protect RHCA's data and our member's Personal Health Information (PHI) as required by Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other regulations. How does it get done? The IT Network Administrator I will support the Agency's technical environment by: • Participate in troubleshooting and maintaining the security of the network and VPN infrastructure • Support the agencies LAN and WAN peripherals such as network switches, routers/firewalls, network servers, printers, and desktops • Support the agencies anti-virus and intrusion detection software on all endpoints, servers, and network devices • Maintain and validate system backup-ups of the Agency's critical data • Provide End-User technical support that includes troubleshooting computers hardware and software • Respond to trouble calls - diagnose, develop solutions, and repair • Create support tickets with the state Department of Information Technology • Manage the Microsoft Active Directory (AD) used to manage computers and user accounts ensuring proper roles are applied to accounts • Create and maintain documentation of technical environment such as troubleshooting process guidelines, best practices, and IT inventory • Participate in the following: • Patching and performing routine maintenance of the network infrastructure • IT training • Work with Network Admin II to maintain network and server environment • Participate and communicate with fellow IT members on IT Special projects Who are the customers? Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Employment Requirements Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Working Conditions Work is usually performed in an office setting, with extensive exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT), personal computer, electronics, circuit boards, processors, chips and telephone usage.
