Analyze architecture and design tradeoffs for subsystems within a complex medical robotics program. Develop strong rationales for critical system requirements. Perform system modeling and support software modeling to enable clear product definition. Plan and execute verification and validation activities. Drive continuous improvement for systems engineering and quality processes. Hybrid work permitted. Qualifications The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered, or as a Design Assurance Engineer, R&D Engineer, or an acceptable alternate occupation. Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered, or as a Design Assurance Engineer, R&D Engineer, or an acceptable alternate occupation. The position requires experience with the following skills: Writing and managing product requirements; Working with requirements management tools, such as Helix, Doors, or Polarion; Risk management methodologies, such as hazards analysis, DFMEA, UFMEA, or PFMEA; System and Software modeling using UML and SysML in Enterprise Architect, Magic Draw, or other tools; Plan and execute verification of medical devices; Work with project execution/management tools, such as MS Project and Azure DevOps; Work on complex electromechnical medical device programs from the development through verification and validation phases; Applicable medical device standards, such as IEC 60601-1 or ISO 14971; Experience with compliance and product safety engineering for medical device products; Developing medical device software in compliance with IEC 62304; and Working on a medical device with complex software or software as a medical device.
