Plexos Group is currently seeking a Structural Engineer with an investigative nature and a strong interest in ensuring the safety and physical integrity of structures. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in structural engineering principles and a commitment to delivering high-quality, safe, and efficient designs. RESPONSIBILITIES • Design and configure structures to withstand stresses and pressures. • Conduct calculations and analysis for pressures, loads, and stresses. • Prepare and oversee the production of drawings, reports, design criteria, and estimates. • Inspect construction work and provide technical advice to ensure structurally sound deliverables. • Utilize computer-aided design technology for simulations. • Select appropriate foundation and support materials. • Collaborate with clients, architects, and engineers to develop proposals. • Ensure the structural integrity of entire systems, including buildings, bridges, pipelines, and industrial features. • Understand both static and dynamic loading for vertical and lateral resistance. • Design individual structural elements such as beams and columns. • Work with various construction materials including concrete, steel, wood, masonry, alloys, and composites. • Ensure compliance with construction processes and regulations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering. • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. • 5+ years of industrial structural engineering experience, preferably in a consulting environment. • Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, AutoCAD, and Revit. • Experience with steel and concrete industrial projects. • Familiarity with rotating and vibration analysis. • Strong attention to detail and project management skills. • Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication capabilities. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Ability to learn and effectively apply working knowledge of government organizations, operations and emergency management programs at the federal, state and local levels. • Must exemplify the firm’s core mission and the values of integrity, teamwork, accountability and excellence. • Must exercise excellent interpersonal skills – position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, diplomacy, and an ability to establish and maintain effective working/professional relationships with internal and external customers. • Must be organized, flexible, and able to prioritize in a multi-demand and constantly changing environment. • Demonstrated ability to meet multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines without sacrificing accuracy or timeliness; ability to work independently; and to understand and effectively apply complex oral and written instructions and procedures. • Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written), as well as to construct and deliver clear, concise, and professional presentations to a variety of audiences and/or individuals. • Must be analytical, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task without sacrificing accuracy or timeliness. • Ability to analyze problems, identify causative factors, and apply actions to effectively resolve current issues and prevent recurrences of problem conditions. • Must possess appropriate levels of proficiency with utilized software and systems and be able to learn new software/systems. • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
