WHAT YOU'LL DO As a System Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing customized technical solutions to meet client and project requirements. The role serves as an internal physical security technology subject matter expert supporting project managers and systems designers. The System Design Engineer contributes to the development of ZBeta engineering and technical consulting tools and processes. CORE COMPETENCIES • Growth Minded: Strong self-awareness of strengths and development areas with a curiosity and appetite for change and innovation • Adaptable: Ability to adjust to changing circumstances, conditions, and tasks quickly and effectively • Collaborative: Ability to solicit and understand multiple perspectives • Evaluative: Ability to evaluate outputs rigorously to ensure consistent excellence in delivery • Accountable: Assumes responsibility for successfully accomplishing work objectives and delivering results; setting high standards of performance for self and others POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Design • Create, edit, review, and proof ZBeta design and engineering drawings package components: plans, details, diagrams, schedules, estimates, and programming matrices. • Participate in project technical architectural design and coordination efforts including those for door hardware, device mounting, mechanical and electrical infrastructure; and structured cabling and network/telecom infrastructure. • Present calculations, make recommendations, review, and make comments on architectural specifications, and review and make comments on contractor submittals. Technical Study • Conduct technical studies, such as cable distance and voltage drop calculations; cable fill and conduit sizing calculations; electrical power requirements and heat loading calculations; equipment test fits for wall and rack layouts; camera angle to target and pixels on target; network bandwidth and storage requirements; IDF loading, and systems cost estimation. Product Research • Conduct product research and engage in continuing technical education in physical security systems software, equipment, and related infrastructure technologies (network, server, storage, etc.). • Conduct technology assessment and comparison studies. Troubleshoot • Research and resolve client and project issues related to codes, standards, and regulations applicable to physical security systems. • Assist consulting and project management staff with technical troubleshooting and technical issues resolution. Quality Assurance • Support system testing and commissioning activities. • Confirm proper function, operation, performance, and compliance vs applicable standards, requirements, and design documentation. Project Management • Work within the project budget and timeline to ensure a timely, cost-effective design delivery. • Participate in project meetings to gain an understanding of the scope of work and project goals. • Provide project leadership for the System Designers and work collaboratively with the Project Manager on projects from design to closeout. Requirements: WHAT YOU'LL NEED Experience: • 5+ years of security system design and/or security technology experience is required • 2+ years Revit &/or AutoCAD experience is preferred Education: • Associate degree, Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit for Electrical Design, or relevant work experience Knowledge: • Proficiency in Lenel security system hardware and programming required • Genetec, C•CURE, and other security system hardware and programming are a plus Skills: • Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software • Proficiency in Bluebeam and Navisworks • Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design software such as Revit & AutoCAD is preferred • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and work quality Abilities: • Technical aptitude and a facility with software applications are required • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, with an ability to organize and present design information to clients WHAT WE OFFER • Competitive salary based on job-related skills, experience, and qualifications • ZBeta is a remote-first company with a distributed team. No Position Type: Management JOB SUMMARY The Senior Network Security Engineer, Network Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) is the subject matter expert in designing and implementing the Network security strategy and platforms for the next-gen operations for all Marriott International (MI) networks including the Property Networks, Datacenter/Cloud Networks, and Corporate Networks. This role will work closely and collaboratively with a matrix team of expert network architects and engineers to drive adoption of SRE practices and operating models across all network product towers, and around the globe. As the Senior Network Security Engineer, the candidate focuses on defining and executing the zero-trust strategy to prevent unauthorized access to Marriott's network as well as meet stringent compliance requirements. Reporting to the Director of SRE, the engineer will be responsible for articulating and effectively executing a vision to address increasing complexity, scale of modern IT systems, and ensure real-time asset visibility, assessment, remediation, and access control to Marriott services. The successful candidate will be expected to bridge the gap by implementing security strategies and next-gen zero trust solutions to ensure all system components are meeting Marriott network access and security compliance requirements at a granular level. Manage Network SRE products and solutions, including the design, low-level engineering, and delivery of new security tools across the network. Establish management level relationships and partnering with all Business disciplines and other MI teams to define Network SRE Security roadmap, meet service level requirements, and serve as an escalation point to resolve service delivery and operational issues. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus. Employees will accrue 0.04616 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive a minimum of 7 holidays annually.
