KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for a Senior Cyber Security Engineer. Experience • 5-8+ years of experience in information security, network engineering, or IT infrastructure • Proven experience implementing and managing: • Firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, and EDR tools • Cloud security controls across AWS, Azure, or GCP • Identity and Access Management (IAM) and MFA solutions • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as: • HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2, NIST CSF, ISO 27001 Technical Skills • Strong understanding of network protocols, segmentation, and secure configurations • Knowledge of encryption, PKI, SSL/TLS, and key management • Proficiency with security incident response, threat hunting, and forensics • Experience with vulnerability management and patch remediation • Hands-on with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel, QRadar) • Knowledge of cloud-native security tools and DevSecOps practices Soft Skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset • Excellent written and verbal communication for cross-functional collaboration • Ability to mentor junior engineers and lead security projects • Strategic mindset with an understanding of business risk and impact Education & Certifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field • Professional certifications(preferred but not always required): • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) • CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker) • CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) • CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or CASP+ • Cloud security certs (e.g., AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate) Security Stack • Rapid 7 InsightVM • Rapid 7 Insight AppSec • Rapid 7 SAST & DAST • Zscaler Secure Web Gateway • SpyCloud • ProofPoint Email Protection (TAP, TRAPS, Protection Server, Encryption) • MS DLP • MS Conditional Access Policies • Manage Engine • VirusTotal • MS Sentinel • MS Defender Endpoint • Ability to provide direction for WAF, and NGFW (Palo) Compensation depends on experience but is typically $50-60/hr ABOUT KORE1 Specializing in professional and technical recruiting, KORE1 is committed to supporting top IT, Engineering, Creative, Scientific, Accounting and Finance professionals in their career paths.
