Senior SQL Server DBA job at Shulman Fleming & Partners. Iselin, NJ. Senior SQL Server DBA Hybrid – NYC or Iselin, NJ (Local Only) Salary: $77K–$145K | No Sponsorship Available We're looking for a hands-on SQL Server DBA with at least 5+ years of experience to join our hybrid team. You’ll support critical SQL environments across on-prem and Azure, handling performance, high availability, automation, and migrations. This role is ideal for someone technical, reliable, and looking to grow into a future Sr. Technical Lead. What You’ll Do: • Manage SQL Server 2012–2019 and Azure SQL (VMs, Managed Instance, PaaS) • Handle HA/DR (Always On, log shipping, replication, mirroring, Oracle RAC) • Troubleshoot and tune performance, queries, deadlocks • Migrate workloads to Azure, automate tasks (PowerShell, Azure Automation) • Monitor systems (SQL Sentry, OpsRamp), manage access and data security • Support developers with SQL optimization and code deployments • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation Must-Haves: • 5+ years of SQL Server DBA experience • Strong SQL skills and hands-on Azure exposure • Ownership mindset, ability to work independently • Solid communication and soft skills • Willingness to work occasional weekends • Professional integrity and team-oriented attitude Nice to Have: • Financial services or regulated environment experience • Azure or SQL certifications Growth Path: • Start as a mid-level DBA and grow into a Sr. Technical Lead with increasing project ownership and architecture responsibilities.
