Under the direction of the Information Technology (IT) Manager, the Network Administrator Cloud Systems is responsible for organizing, modifying, installing, and supporting the company's “cloud” computer systems. Installs, and manages LANs, WANs, Internet and intranet systems, and network segments in the “cloud”. Ensures the smooth and efficient operation of the Center’s cloud system, providing technical support and guidance to users and other IT staff. Assists IT staff in general business programming, database maintenance, and end-user support, as well as report development in response to public record requests. Provides project objective support to Project Leads as needed and assists the IT Manager with all aspects of the Regional Center computer systems operations. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent will have strong aptitude in managing and troubleshooting “cloud” network issues within a “cloud” environment. Will possess a strong understanding of how servers, switches, routers, and firewalls function to form a “cloud” network system., have hands-on experience in communicating and coordinating installations, and be able to problem solve with vendors and IT staff. Solid knowledge of computer logic to perform tasks listed under principal duties and responsibilities is required, as is hands-on experience with knowledge of methodology to run virtual and physical computer systems and troubleshoot computer equipment malfunctions. Must have strong interpersonal skills, be able to work with diverse employees, exceptional communication skills necessary to train others in computer systems and effectively communicate problems with supervisors as they become known The ideal candidate will be required to have an Associate’s degree in an information technology related field. A Bachelor’s degree in an information technology-related field is highly preferred. In addition, certifications in Microsoft Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE); A+ Network Certification; Cisco or Juniper Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is highly desirable. A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Administrator on a medium sized network of “cloud” systems, virtual and physical servers, switches, routers, PC systems and communications devices using current technologies is required. A valid California Driver’s license, current automobile insurance and access to reliable transportation.
