Description & Requirements Join our innovative Maximus AI Accelerator team as a Lead Data Scientist specializing in AI algorithm architectures. We are searching for a dedicated individual who excels both as a hands-on contributor and a collaborative team member. In this role, you will have the opportunity to architect and optimize scalable AI systems, integrating AI models into production following MLOps best practices, while ensuring that our systems remain resilient, compliant, and efficient. This position demands strong systems thinking, exceptional problem-solving capabilities, and advanced mathematics, coupled with the agility to manage risks and adapt to changes within complex environments. While you will focus on strategic company-wide initiatives, you will also contribute to project delivery and solutions for capturing new opportunities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Drive the responsible use of AI, ML, mathematics, and data science solutions throughout the organization by selecting appropriate tools, methodologies, and automation techniques for unique scenarios. • Lead organizational efforts to create solutions with real mission outcomes utilizing AI capabilities from fields like Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, and classical machine learning. • Formulate mathematically rigorous process improvement procedures. • Stay abreast of the evolving AI technology landscape, ensuring applicability for operational environments. • Create, curate, and promote best practices, playbooks, and firm intellectual capital across teams. What You Will Do: • Continue to cultivate and advance AI and data science solutions, ensuring they align with operational needs. • Support efforts across the organization to innovate and implement AI capabilities effectively. • Maintain an extensive knowledge of AI technology and its suitability for production. • Contribute to developing best practices, lessons learned and organizational knowledge. Minimum Requirements (required skills): • Professional programming experience (e.g. Python, R). • Expertise in at least two of the following areas: Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Deep Learning, and/or Classical ML. • Experience in API programming and familiarity with Linux. • Strong grounding in statistics, linear algebra, and calculus. • Practical applications of mathematical principles to real-world challenges. • Team collaboration and contribution experience. Minimum Education requirement: • BS in a quantitative discipline (Math, Physics, Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, etc.). Years of Required Work-Related Experience: • 3+ years in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. • 3+ years in Software Development. • 3+ years in Mathematical Modeling. Required Certifications: • None. Preferred Key Skills and Abilities (not mandatory): • Masters in a quantitative discipline. • Experience developing machine learning or signal processing algorithms. • Ability to apply mathematical principles to model behaviors. • Using statistics to discern signals from noise. • Previous individual contributor experience in AI. • Knowledge of advanced technologies to address operational challenges in AI. • Deep familiarity with data structures and software engineering principles. • Capability to design tailored solutions for customer needs in AI and Advanced Analytics. • Build reference implementations of AI processing solutions. • Proficiency in multiple programming languages, including but not limited to Python and Java. • Experience with CI/CD, DevSecOps, and Agile methodologies. • Deep learning model architecture familiarity. • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP). • 5+ years of experience in relevant fields. • Knowledge of tools like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Pandas. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package that may include short- and long-term incentives and program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will align with job duties and relevant experience. An applicant's salary history will not influence the compensation decision. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances. Minimum Salary: $123,440.00 Maximum Salary: $180,000.00
