Overview Join PepsiCo's Global Emerging Technologies Security Team, where we take charge in crafting and implementing cutting-edge security solutions in areas such as containers, API, and AI/ML. Our mission is to make security risks visible and actionable for the business. As part of the Cyber Fusion Center, we are looking for an enthusiastic Entry-Level Security Development Engineer. This role requires hands-on coding experience with a focus on automation. We want candidates who are proficient in at least one programming language from the following list, in order of priority: Python, Golang (Go), Rust, C++, or Java. You will help us develop automation frameworks that integrate security tools and enhance our vulnerability remediation processes. Responsibilities • Improve and scale automation scripts (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for vulnerability detection, tracking, and remediation. • Demonstrate experience in at least one of the listed programming languages; experience with full stack, back-end, or front-end development is advantageous. • Create custom API integrations for tools like container/API scanning tools, ServiceNow VR & CC, and ITSM platforms to automate security workflows. • Engage in security assessments of container/API environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards. • Automate the integration of vulnerability findings into ServiceNow VR for better tracking and resolution. • Utilize your understanding of networking and security protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP/S, SSH, and others. • Create tools for generating automated compliance reports and tracking remediation efforts to reduce audit preparation time. • Stay updated on emerging threats, changes in regulations, and trends in vulnerabilities, refining our security automation strategies. • Define and monitor KPIs to evaluate and enhance security effectiveness. • Develop comprehensive security documentation and playbooks. • Build the knowledge and expertise necessary to work independently. Accountabilities • Deliver projects and objectives that align with the team's vision and goals. • Regularly update security documentation and processes to adapt to the evolving threat landscape. • Focus on developing automation to strengthen our global security capabilities. • Participate in security reviews, audits, and on-site engagements as necessary, including after-hours support for incidents. Qualifications Education & Experience • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience). Mandatory Technical Skills • Experience with at least one of the listed programming languages in order of priority: Python, Golang (Go), Rust, C++, or Java. • Strong programming skills in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages. • Understanding of basic security and networking protocols. • Introductory knowledge of secure software development and CI/CD practices. • Eagerness to learn and utilize various security scanning tools effectively. • Basic knowledge of cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP). • Familiarity with container security and orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes. • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
