SRC is searching for a Senior-level Mission Systems Engineer with experience in establishing, managing, and overseeing space-based mission system and capability integration processes, procedures, and policies in support of United States Space Command (USSPACECOM) systems. This role involves ensuring compliance with space-based mission system engineering integration policies and directives, apply system engineering and architecture design principles throughout the programs life cycle, and producing technical reports, models, and design drawings. The position requires extensive experience in space-based mission system engineering capability integration, particularly within the DoD context. Work will be conducted at the government's facilities in Colorado Springs, CO. Duties & Responsibilities include: • Overseeing the integration of space-based mission systems into the consolidated space operation facility (CSOF) • Ensuring technical synchronization and consistency across all engineering disciplines involved in project execution • Collaborating with mission partners to plan and execute major technical transitions involving procurement, infrastructure setup, and connectivity. • Working with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the system meets mission requirements and program objectives • Developing tools and process improvements to aggregate, validate, and report on multi-source requirements, streamlining planning and decision-making • Identifying and assessing technical risks, develop mitigation strategies minimizing impact to the program’s cost and schedule • Supporting program leadership with resource allocation, stakeholder engagement, and risk management to ensure program success • Managing cross-functional alignment by overseeing and maintaining a 1,900-line Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) in Microsoft Project • Facilitating weekly IMS review meetings to document action items, mitigate risks, and track schedule progress with internal teams and stakeholders • Capturing and translating mission and customer requirements and need into mission system requirements and solutions • Conducting course of actions, trade studies, and engineering assessments • Designing and developing mission system and enterprise architectures and associated artifacts • Leading monthly program reviews with senior leadership, reporting on milestones, performance metrics, and schedule health. • Collaborating and coordinating with external customers, management, vendors, and other engineering disciplines • Representing the program in high-level meetings, delivering progress updates and facilitating timely solutions to complex system challenges Requirements • 10 years minimum experience in DoD or Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Space-based Mission System Integration including establishment, execution, and management of all aspects of Systems Integration Engineering throughout the full program lifecycle (concept definition, design, test, and production) • 8+ years of engineering or project management experience in a defense or high-tech environment • Knowledge of space-based ground mission systems, tools (SDK, SDCCS, etc.), and information technology characteristics and concepts • Experience with definition of high level functional and performance mission system requirements and verification methods, subsequent analysis, decomposition, and derivation of requirements, allocation of those lower-level requirements to physical and functional architectural elements, and tracking them through design, verification, integration, testing, and operational validation • Experience with risk assessments and generate mitigation plans to comply with system/customer requirements • Proven experience managing Integrated Master Schedules using Microsoft Project • Strong proficiency in Excel and Jira • Posses IAT/IAM Level II or greater (e.g., Security +, CCNA) • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field or an additional five years of experience in Engineering, Computer Science or IT related fields • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to drive collaboration across technical and non-technical teams Desired Skills • Experience working with National Space Defense Center (NSDC) or National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) • Experience as a Space Operations SETA on contracts supporting USSF or Space Systems Command • Experience working with Shore Installation Process Handbook (SIPH) and/or System Operational Verification Testing (SOVT) • Experience working with DoD programs or classified environments. • Familiarity with SAFe, Agile, and/or Waterfall methodologies. • Familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). • Exceptional organizational, verbal and written skills Clearance Information SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT.
