At Capital One, we are looking for a dynamic Principal DevOps Engineer to lead innovative projects that will revolutionize our Global Payment Network. Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee a diverse array of technology projects while leading a talented team of developers proficient in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full-stack systems.
• Maintain an inquisitive mindset by tracking tech advancements, experimenting with new technologies, and actively participating in both internal and external tech communities to foster growth and mentorship.
• Engage with digital product managers to deliver robust, cloud-based solutions that empower millions of Americans on their financial journeys.
• Utilize a variety of programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, Ruby, and Go, along with container orchestration services like Docker and Kubernetes, and CM tools including Ansible and Terraform, while leveraging various AWS services.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree.
• At least 4 years of experience in DevOps Engineering (Internships do not count).
• At least 3 years of experience in Cloud Native technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• At least 4 years of Unix or Linux system administration experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• 7+ years of DevOps Engineering experience.
• 4+ years of experience with coding and scripting (Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript, Golang, Bash, Perl, or Ruby).
• 4+ years of experience with technologies such as Apache Mesos, Marathon, or Apache Spark.
• 4+ years of experience using build and deployment tools (Jenkins, Docker).
• 2+ years of experience with distributed database systems (Cassandra, ElasticSearch).
• 2+ years of experience deploying clustered web services.
• 2+ years of experience with Agile Development Practices.

The salary range for this position is as follows: Chicago, IL: $175,800 - $200,700; McLean, VA: $193,400 - $220,700; Riverwoods, IL: $175,800 - $200,700. Actual salary will be determined based on various factors. This role may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, including bonuses or long-term incentives.
