About the Role Are you passionate about leading enterprise-level cloud architecture and enabling digital transformation? Seeking a senior-level Enterprise Application Architect to drive strategy, design, and implementation of scalable cloud-based solutions—primarily on AWS—across a variety of business domains. This position sits within our Application Architecture and Reliability team in the Digital Grid Operations organization, collaborating to align technical vision with business needs. Key Responsibilities • Lead the design of enterprise-wide application architectures and reference patterns across public cloud platforms (mainly AWS). • Collaborate with Solution Architects and domain leads to align technical designs with business strategies. • Shape the Application Architecture roadmap and provide strategic direction on key programs and platforms. • Drive the architecture of serverless, microservices, and SOA-based applications. • Participate in the Architecture Review Board (ARB) and Enterprise Solution Review Board, ensuring compliance and consistency in solution designs. • Evaluate and select cloud technologies and vendors; contribute to product roadmaps and long-term technology strategies. • Partner with Cybersecurity to ensure solutions are secure, compliant, and resilient against emerging threats. Technical Expertise We’re looking for architects with deep hands-on experience in: • AWS core components: VPC, IAM, Transit Gateway, EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, etc. • DevOps tools & CI/CD practices • Container platforms: OpenShift, Kubernetes (AKS/EKS) • Cloud Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, AWS CloudFormation • Multi-cloud experience (Azure, IBM Cloud) a plus • Application development in Java, .NET, Python, or JavaScript • Strong understanding of cloud security, compliance, and enterprise IT governance Qualifications • 14+ years in IT Application Development • 7+ years in Application/Cloud Architecture • 3+ years as an Enterprise Architect • Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills • Experience working with cross-functional teams and C-level stakeholders • Ability to translate business needs into scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions
