Overview: Cloud Data Engineer to support a large-scale modernization initiative focused on enhancing software development and delivery processes. We are looking for professionals with strong cloud data engineering experience—whether in Azure, AWS, or both—who are comfortable operating in a mixed-cloud setting. Candidates with deep expertise in one platform and exposure to the other are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities: • Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines and cloud-native data solutions in a cloud environment (Azure and/or AWS). • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, data analysts, and architects to ensure efficient data flow and access across platforms. • Build and manage cloud-based data ingestion, transformation, and storage processes using services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, and Amazon S3. • Support data integration between Oracle databases and cloud-based services across Azure and AWS. • Support the migration of on-premise data systems to cloud infrastructure, ensuring data integrity and continuity. • Ensure data quality, governance, and security best practices are followed throughout the development lifecycle. • Provide troubleshooting and support for data-related issues in cloud environments. • Document architecture, workflows, and system interactions to support collaboration and knowledge sharing. • Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development on our current Oracle implementation. Required Skills and Qualifications: • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, cloud engineering, or a similar role. • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including but not limited to Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Blob Storage, or equivalent in AWS including AWS Glue, RedShift, S3, Lambda, RDS • Strong expertise in Oracle databases (Oracle SQL, PL/SQL), with experience managing data extraction and transformation processes. • Solid understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines and modern data architecture principles. • Experience with data modeling, performance tuning, and data security best practices. • Proficient in scripting and programming languages such as Python or PowerShell a plus. • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools in a cloud environment is a plus. • Experience with Microsoft Fabric and associated tools a plus. • Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications: • Microsoft Certified: Azure Enterprise Data Analyst Associate (DP-700) or similar Azure data certifications. • AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional is highly desirable. • Experience working within state or federal government agencies Required Skills : Azure: Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Azure Synapse Oracle (pl/SQL) ETL: SQL and pl/SQL Power BI
