Job Title: Enterprise Architect – Architecture Governance Location: Reston, VA (Strongly Preferred) or Plano, TX - Hybrid onsite 3 days a week Interview Process: Video Interviews via Microsoft Teams Job Summary: We are seeking a seasoned Enterprise Architect to join our team with a strong focus on architecture governance rather than hands-on solution design. This role is ideal for a well-rounded architect who understands the full breadth of enterprise architecture domains—application, data, integration, security, and infrastructure—and can oversee and guide architectural standards and best practices across the enterprise. Key Responsibilities: Provide governance and oversight across all architecture domains, ensuring consistency with enterprise-wide standards and patterns. Define, document, and maintain architecture templates, standards, and best practices. Collaborate with development teams to drive requirements for our internal architecture portal and ensure accurate template usage. Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for architecture documentation—what attributes are required, their values, and how to navigate repositories. Consult and provide peer reviews of architecture artifacts, offering guidance based on approved enterprise patterns. Work cross-functionally with POCs from security, networking, resiliency, and data teams, ensuring alignment across diverse technical domains. Help maintain and evolve the internal architecture documentation system, providing guidance for system enhancements and ensuring adoption. Serve as a liaison and facilitator among various stakeholders, balancing competing goals and managing expectations. Create and deliver executive-level presentations, architecture guidance documents, and socialization materials using PowerPoint and Confluence. Advocate for consistent use of enterprise tools, templates, and architectural principles across teams. Requirements: Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect in a large enterprise environment. Broad knowledge across all domains of architecture (application, data, security, integration, infrastructure). Experience in architecture governance, architectural peer reviews, and stakeholder engagement. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders with diverse goals and technical backgrounds. Proficiency with Confluence, PowerPoint, and preparing executive-level materials. Solid foundational knowledge of AWS Cloud services. Familiarity with architecture frameworks like TOGAF or Zachman (certification is a plus, but not required). Ability to consult, delegate, and collaborate with SMEs rather than being hands-on in coding or solution building. Strong understanding of enterprise repositories, architecture patterns, and documentation processes. Nice to Have: AWS Solutions Architect certification Experience or exposure to AI/ML technologies Background working in highly matrixed, cross-functional enterprise environments Additional Notes: This is not a Solutions Architect or hands-on technical role. No direct responsibility for detailed solutioning, coding, or architectural approval. The role requires strategic oversight, mentoring, and consulting across teams, ensuring architectural compliance and documentation integrity.
