DevOps Engineer • 6-month contract with potential to extend* Hybrid: 1-2x a week onsite in Chicago, IL Optomi, in partnership with our premier clients is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer with experience supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 environments to participate in a major D365 implementation project. The ideal candidate has a strong Azure engineering background and is comfortable bridging DevOps best practices with Dynamics 365 administrative support. This role will focus on DevOps enablement, source code and artifact management, infrastructure as code (IaC), automation, and portal-based configuration, with light hands-on support for Dynamics 365 deployment and licensing. Key Responsibilities • Collaborate with the D365 implementation vendor to align infrastructure and DevOps needs. • Provide DevOps engineering support across: • Source code management (GitHub preferred) • Artifact management and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps) • Repository migration from Azure DevOps (ADO) to GitHub • Maintain or set up infrastructure via ARM templates or Terraform. • Administer Azure resources and services through the Azure portal. • Assist in D365 configuration, environment setup, and license management via portals. • Write PowerShell or other scripts to automate repetitive deployment and administrative tasks. • Support integration and synchronization between GitHub and Azure DevOps where needed. • Provide light support around Microsoft Fabric data services (e.g., workspace or dataset setup). Technical Qualifications Required: • Proven experience in Azure Cloud Engineering. • Strong hands-on experience in DevOps automation and tooling. • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 from an admin or deployment support perspective. • Proficiency with GitHub and/or Azure DevOps. • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, especially GitHub Actions or Azure Pipelines. • Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code using ARM templates or Terraform. • Scripting skills, particularly in PowerShell. • Comfortable navigating Azure and Dynamics configuration portals. Nice to Have: • Understanding of Microsoft Fabric and its data integration capabilities. • Experience with migrating DevOps pipelines and repositories between ADO and GitHub. • Exposure to enterprise-scale Dynamics 365 implementations.
