The Revenue Data Analyst analyzes financial data related to healthcare services to improve financial performance and optimize revenue cycles. The Revenue Data Analyst will identify trends and provide insights to help healthcare organizations make informed decisions. This role requires a strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle management, data analysis techniques, and relevant software and tools. The Revenue Data Analyst reports directly to the Director of Revenue Cycle. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Extract, validate, and analyze revenue cycle data from EHR, billing, and financial systems. • Examine claims data, billing information, and reimbursement rates to identify areas of revenue leakage or inefficiency. • Resolve billing discrepancies and patient inquiries in a timely manner. • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure proper documentation supports billing claims. • Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on outstanding claims. • Analyze denial data to identify root causes and recommend process improvements. • Stay updated on changes in billing regulations and payer policies to ensure compliance. • Develop dashboards, track and analyze KPIs related to revenue cycle, such as collection rates, denial rates, and average charge per encounter. • Prepare reports on revenue cycle performance metrics and provide actionable recommendations to improve revenue cycle performance. • Work with finance, billing, coding, and clinical staff to implement process improvements and resolve revenue cycle issues. • Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: • High school graduate or equivalent. • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in revenue cycle management or medical billing is required. • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to identify discrepancies and trends. • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and insurance representatives. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Intermediate computer skills including use of Microsoft Office Excel and Word. • Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software.
