We are hiring for the following remote position: IT Systems Administrator - Remote Preferred East Coast or West Coast Region Rancho Biosciences is seeking a systems administrator to monitor the performance of, create accounts for, and manage access to computing resources. The Systems Administrator will also be responsible for procuring and provisioning cloud computing resources, forming routine system startup/shutdown procedures, applying patches, managing, and installing packages, and performing updates and upgrades to maintain stable environments (including data back-ups and disaster recovery operations). Key Responsibilities will include but not limited to: • Manages network infrastructure and storage resources (including NAS, and object storage) • Performs root-cause analysis for network and system issues • Develops and implements disaster recovery plans • Creates and manages virtual machines using LXC and VMware • Configures and maintains data center hardware (servers, storage) • Manages and updates Linux server systems • Implements and maintains other cloud-based technologies • Provides systems support for scientists and researchers • Develops standard operating procedures for IT operations The Qualified Candidate Must Have: • Associates Degree (AA or AS) from an accredited college/university in Computer Sciences or a related field; with 5+ years of hands on IT experience, including 3+ years in network and systems administration • Candidate must have working knowledge in the following technologies: • Ubuntu/Debian Linux • Azure AD • Virtualization and containerization (e.g. LXC) • Linux shell scripting • CI/CD technologies (e.g. Jenkins, Ansible, Github Actions, etc.) • Extensive experience with virtualization and containerization (setup, configuration, VM/Container management) • Proficiency in managing and updating Linux server systems • Working knowledge of SSO, MFA and cloud technologies • Experience with security measures to protect data, software, and hardware, and familiarity with data security compliance standards • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes • Experience with Version Control, build automation and CI/CD tools • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written • Demonstrated experience with teamwork and collaboration amongst multiple teams • Must understand sense of urgency and have prioritization skills • Experience in a fast-paced, growing organization • Must be flexible and willing to change with quick turnarounds • Organized, attention to detail, self-starter, able to communicate complete IT and security concepts effectively with non-technical people Rancho BioSciences offers competitive salary and benefits package.
