Senior SQL Server DBA Join a dynamic company for a short-term project. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Day-to-day activities regarding the upkeep and availability of all SQL Server database servers in the environment, including lower environments. • Research and implement performance improvement tools/techniques in our SQL Server databases, including data storage, logging, in-memory object/databases, tuning, and performance monitoring tools. • Administer SQL databases, monitor backups, space utilization, and software updates. • Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends, while providing frequent and clear communication to IT Management. • Configure SQL Server monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms. • Install and configure new SQL Servers. • Deploy database change scripts provided by third-party vendors. • When performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase performance, including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes. This opportunity is a three-month contract position with the option to extend in Kennesaw. After the first two weeks, you can telecommute up to two days a week. REQUIRED SKILLS: • 5+ years of SQL Server database design and administration experience • 5+ years of experience in database, systems, and infrastructure architecture • 3+ years of experience with database virtualization and high-availability solutions • 3+ years of experience with Replication solutions • SQL Server Enterprise database architecture experience – sizing versions 2014, 2016, and 2017, high-level understanding of how backup, high availability, BCP, and capacity planning are designed and implemented in a SQL Server shared consolidated environment • Proven ability to troubleshoot and trace data-related issues throughout the architecture • Excellent communication skills • Consultative personality PREFERRED SKILLS: • SSIS • Azure • Healthcare experience Must be authorized to work in the US. on a W2 basis/ C2C and Sponsorships are not available.
